When I was a kid in the 80's there were some bands I wanted to see, often they were past their best, but just to be there was ace. The Ramones in 1991 was one. I have to say, it was the maddest thing I'd ever seen then and probably since.

Me too mate, saw them at Cardiff Uni in 1987, supported by the one album Liverpool band Sex Gods / Balcony Dogs who I'm equally glad to have seen live as they were magnificent and disbanded pretty soon after. Makes me smile when I see these youngsters in their Ramones t-shirts who more than likely couldn't name a single song title.

my favourite 80's and early 90's Irish republican band. I loved these lads more than life itself at the time. I followed them from Liverpool to Birmingham to Brighton and back. Kipped in the backs of vans and in some unseemly places just to see them,

haha! I know comrade. You see the snots in their Ramones t shirts or sweatshirts bought in the ASDA, same as Nirvana. They've just become a latter day commodity now. Which is the exact opposite of what they stood for and wanted.

Mrs. BlueTX saw them as a very young teenager (1979) in Lubbock, Texas - of all places. As Bible belt as it gets at that time.

Might still be her favorite show ever.

I remember seeing That Petrol Emotion in the Digbeth Irish club in Birmingham, utterly mad. Went for a drink or two in Erdington before the gig, I thought some ale houses in Liverpool were rough mind. We went in, the darts stopped in mid air and everyone in the place looked at us. Walks in, gabs to the fella behind the bar, just a couple of pints mind mate, "oh, right, so yous are Irish Liverpool boys then?" "yeah, here to see the Petrol boys concert" "Grand, crack on lads"

Until the day I die, Jello Biafra will be an ultimate hero of mine.

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is still one of my favourite albums.

I was thinking more:

And for those of you who want to be a bit more adventurous...

Here's what happens when you crossover hardcore punk and thrash metal:

It's an acquired taste I'm afraid. Not everybody's cup of tea.
