I mean if we're using that as the yardstick, he's significantly worse than Digne, and with inferior potential.

But as good as their research is (for the most part, obviously there's exceptions), we really shouldn't.

True.

But, stats & attributes on FM and Champ man are collected by real scouts and scouting reports from all over the globe.

Coleman hasn't been very good for longer yet we've invested zero into a right back.

It's absolutely horrific business.
Obviously right back position should be number 1 priority.

Fans will obviously be upset losing a decent player, but if you hand zero funds and wanted to bring in new blood who would you sell to change thing's? Not many options on the table.

We could just do nothing, play mid table football for another season and give Digne a 5 year deal and never get a return on investment.

You would have to assume that this is a direct replacement for Digne and he must be going. With all of our ffp problems we wouldn't be spending 20 million to have 2 left backs, we would be concentrating on a right back as a priority and probably on loan.

Nice to be getting things sorted very early though ready for 1st January, hope we have a few more irons in the fire to strengthen us up and give us a better 2nd half of the season.

But given what's going on with Digne and how public it has become, we'll maybe get a couple of million more for him than we're spending on his untested replacement

It's a lot of money considering we're in the red ffp wise. Mad house.
We're actually not with the sale of James, we brought in nobody so we can afford to buy him.

Digne is on his way; let's be honest, he has been poor now for many months and might be the reason why the morale in the dressing room has been so poor (speculation)...

We are getting rid of some big wage earners at the end of this season, so there is wiggle room.

Also, if Branthwaite, Dobbin, and Gordon continue to kick on, saves us from having to buy a left-footed centre back, a left-winger, and a backup striker...

So let's give the player that I have never heard of before today a chance...

I’m sure we will.

sell Richy to buy someone from the Ecuador 1st Division, sell Mina and buy someone from Belarus.

It’s as simple as this.... the club need some sort of money back on all the signings we have made over the last 5 years. Digne is 28 years of age and would bring in a decent amount of money. We can’t sit here and watch all the signings we made in the last 5 years ride their contracts down.
I’d be surprised if digne brought in much more that we’re spending all things considered. It’s not exactly an obvious thing to do to sort the finances out even if it does have a small impact on them.
