So we can't expect to win many games if we haven't got all three of those starting games?

if any team spends large portions of the season without their best centre back, best midfielder, and best striker, it’s not going to go well for them. It’s even worse when it’s a team that doesn’t have quality backup. I’m not saying we can’t win games, just anyone can see we’re not going to win as many as if those players were available. There’s nothing revolutionary in that opinion, it’s just logical.

Who knows but I'll be shockedif we get anything against City - the point is we've been lower in the table under Carlo Ancelotti with this squad of players, we've been in the bottom 3 under Koeman & Silva with this squad of players.

It should not come as a surprise to anyone with this squad but some still seem to have expectations that we should be smashing teams left, right and centre with jokers like Davies, Iwobi, Coleman, Keane & Holgate getting into the side.

We are crap, have been crap for many years and will continue to be crap until we have either less injuries to key players or improve our recruitment and have good quality on the bench to provide cover for our usual 2-3 injuries a week in training we seem to suffer.

no mate it’s Benitez, even though we’ve had the same recurring issues under Koeman Allardyce Silva Ancelotti, it’s all Benitez. Let’s fire him and get someone else in, it will be way better.

Do you realise that he’s had 14
Clubs?
He’s not got a lifetime connection to LFC - he couldn’t give a [Poor language removed] about them.
Let him manage us and he’ll do okay
Stop fretting
My point was that he shouldn't have been appointed, mate. Personally I don't think he gives a flying one about them, I don't mind if their legends want to work for us and I want him to do well, as he's our manager now

The problem with that logic though is that it can be used to give Benitez a free pass when we get beat, if that's the case then what are we paying him big bucks for?

Noone expects us to be smashing teams, but by your logic, the players we have are 11th place standard, so we shouldn't be getting battered by teams like Watford or villa who are 16th and 17th right?

Very tired of the Pro Benitez vs Anti Benitez argument.

This is for all the level headed blues out there.

That aren't blindly bias towards either 'political party'.

That will be happy to praise him if he succeeds or to call for his head if results don't improve.

BUT ONLY WHEN HE'S BEEN GIVEN AT LEAST A REASONABLE TRANSFER WINDOW / BUDGET

TO ATTEMPT TO RIGHT THE WRONGS OF THE BOARD + PREVIOUS MANAGERS

WHICH BACK DATES APPROX 5 YEARS.

**OPERATION GOODISON EXERCISE**

"May all supporters please stop bickering".

Thank you.

Nobody has actually said that though.

What they're saying is that these players are good enough to do better than 1 win in 8 and getting beat by Watford and Wolves. You yourself said the rest of the squad is midtable, but our form clearly shows that we're not going to be midtable by Christmas.

Accepting this from a kopite manager is disgraceful.

But no matter what he does it will always come down to this with yourself, Marius, Kevin The Ratio et al.

Pep Guardiola could be our manager and if it came out he wore YNWA ball stranglers and had a big red Xmas Tree you would all want him gone when the first rocky patch hit.

Its why the silent majority cant take anything the Anyone But Benitez Brigade says that seriously - as every criticism is laced with an agenda based on the man himself.

But all of that still doesn't justify you hand-waving away every other legitimate criticism we have about our performance right now.

The way you and the rest of the fan club talk he could relegate us and you'd all be chanting his name. It's pathetic to see from blues.

No one says he escapes criticism - but after the last 7 years, crap squad, injuries to key players, £1.7m peanut budget in the summer the rational fans can see he only takes about 10-20% of the blame of where the club currently sits - yet you all want him booted.

Unbelievable.

I'll say he is escaping criticism. The way you and the rest go on he hasn't done a single thing wrong since he's been here.

Even in that post, you've made about 5 excuses for him. Why can't you just admit he's doing badly with the players available to him? Because he is.

You say that like it would be a weird reaction to be angry about that!

If for some reason he came out wearing "YNWA ball stranglers" I would want him fired on the spot as it would be incredibly disrespectful to the club (not to mention very weird behavior..)
