I guess if you flip it, and say if he goes to Liverpool on the back of success at Aston Villa, then they'll be in a better position and be able to appoint someone else of good calibre. That's surely the only positive of it?

All depends on when he leaves to be honest

If he'd lasted the season and then left then I don't think Rangers supporters would be bitter about it

If he leaves Aston Villa at the end of a season after a couple of good years in the job then I doubt Villa fans will be too bothered

Will be on a hiding to nothing there. Far more likely to end in a bottom half scrap than push for Europe.

You just know he’ll absolutely bend over every single time for Klopp as well, you just know it, and he’ll love doing it as well.

Let me just put on the record though….. there are some ex players and managers who turned up at Anfield that I could respect once they left and the cult like mist disappeared from them.

There's a lot of skepticism over whether or not the new regime in Newcastle has a clue.
