Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Can sympathise. Since I came out of hospital a couple of months ago, I have had no appetite, Unusual for me. The problem is, you tend to eat the food you really enjoy but is not always the best for your dietary needs. One big plus is that the new harvest of sprouts is out, my favourite vegetable.
Was going to post 'eat more cabbage and less chocolate cake' - but felt like a hypocrite! lol

Sprouts were my late mum's favourite veg, too. In fact, I just had a memory of her walking up the stairs after Christmas dinner, giggling away to herself as she let a few farts rip. Always nice to be reminded of my mum, so thanks for that.

Talking of farting, my mum had this saying she used to say whenever someone farted, "Who let Mary out of jail?" Absolutely no idea where it came from and never heard anyone else say it. As you're, erm, one of GOT's elder statesmen, have you ever heard that one before?

Eat little and often, mate.

Good advice that. Fruit yoghurts is a good one, easy to eat, easy to swallow.

Good suggestions too. Soups and broths are also easy to eat and can be very nutritious.

I've tried the little and often trick and it still hasn't helped.

I might get some soups in as I know I like them and they are gentle on the stomach. Might have to start putting sugar in my coffee as well.

Good, what soup is your favorite? I absolutely love soups, my daughter does too. Sometimes it is the easiest way to get her to eat her veggies lol

Black coffee can be very harsh on the gut so sugar, maybe a little bit of cream would be more gentle. I am Colombian but don't drink coffee any longer, I actually prefer tea.

No, I've never heard it either and as I'm a Scouser born and bred, I am familiar with most sayings.

Bluetintedspecs. Pleased that that reminded you of your Mum. Sassy Columbian mentioned that she prefers tea and that reminded me of my Mum. Every time she had a cup of tea she used to say the same thing. After a couple of sips she would say 'that's the nicest cup of tea I have ever had'. What would life be like without memories? So, thanks Sassy.

Agree it is the best they could have picked under the circumstances. There's a few of them who need to up their game Zak Crawley for one. Not much real pace there either. Only Wood who can consistently get over 90mph. Cant see us winning like you say. But you never know....

In an ideal world Stokes and Archer would have been available and Moeen wouldn't have retired. Sam Curran went out if form at the wrong time as he would have at least been useful as something different. The problem with having Woakes as the main alrounder is he doesn't have a very good record abroad.

I just like mine out of a tin. Oxtail is my favourite I also like bacon and lentil but can't have that one as its high residue. Tomato is another favourite. Chicken is good as long as its not too creamy. I always have milk in my coffee but usually I have it with no sugar but I actually prefer it with. I prefer tea by a mile but I couldn't drink it with sugar. I did as a child but once I got off I was so glad I did as I could savour the actual taste of the tea. I now consider putting sugar in tea as a capital crime.

That reminds me of something from when I was a young kid going the match. People have rituals on matchday and this was mine. Back in the late 70s, early 80s, my match going uncles and I would meet up at my Auntie's house in Dyson Street which is a short walk from Goodison. My auntie would prepare a load of bacon butties and chips for the uncles when they arrived, and chicken soup for me. She did this every home game without fail for a good 3-4 years, every time, Heinz Cream of Chicken Soup. lol

I like Heinz Oxtail and Tomato but prefer Tesco own for chicken. I'm an odd ball like that. If I can't have my favourite brand I just don't buy that flavour.
