ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They are in danger of becoming a dad's and lads squad. Over 30s and under 25s. Not many players hungry and at their peak. This is how we ended up under Martinez. Which was Miyes fault as much. It is also where United had ended up under Ferguson which is why he walked away. He was too old and they were already behind City. The won the league in 2012/13 because City imploded. They've only just got it better balanced more than 5 years down the line. Liverpool will go through this pain at some point hopefully DJ Stevie 'Slippy G' Mee will be driving the bus at this point.

Hold on here, FSG love winning trophies? Theyve won 2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Arsenal have won more FA Cups than that.

And as for the FA Cup not being liked? That is ridiculous. Go and ask proper supporters (who attend matches regularly) whether the FA Cup matters. 99% of them would love their team to win it. It's the oldest and most prestigious knock out competition in the world!

FSG and Kroenke are cut from the same cloth. They want to grow the asset, and in the process of doing so believe they can compete to win trophies. Kroenke made a big mistake getting rid of Wenger (and replacing him badly) whereas FSG made a good appointment in Klopp. Their fortunes have kind of reversed with those appointments. Like if Arsenal had appointed Klopp, and Liverpool Rodgers/Arteta and to a degree Emery, I think it plays out similarly.
I was also talking about the Red Sox who have won the most championships in baseball this century.

Did you see the line "Both sides of the Atlantic". :bye:

Both of FSG's teams have won the biggest trophies in said sports both sides of the Atlantic.

Kroenke doesn't care about winning, FA cup to him is like winning a division title in the NFL, NBA or NHL, not really the big trophy is it in the grand scheme of things, £4 million for winning it and a EL spot, like i said under Kroenke the FA Cup/carabao Cup is the ceiling for Arsenal and nothing more, he'll never spend enough to push them further or recruit the absolute best coach out there.

I think this is a good point. Klopp will not be around for a rebuild. I'm not sure that the money is there for such a comprehensive overhaul. When you look at the ages of their key players, they will all get old together and have very little resale value. Klopp won't care about that though, because he will be gone. At the start of the next season, the ages of their key players will be:

Mane - 30
Firmino - 30
Salah - 30
Van Dijk - 31
Henderson - 32
Thiago - 31
Matip - 31
Milner - 36

You also have a host of players hitting 28/29 - Alisson, Robertson, Fabinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

This is a crisis in waiting if ever there was one.
We live in hope.

I did see that but yes. I ignored it as it's not strictly relevant. There is a lot of frustration towards their ownership of the Red Sox though, as they have let key players go, and surrendered a position of strength and seen the Red Sox struggle. So it did seem a bit of an odd point.

So to I would suggest is stating Kroenke doesnt want to win football trophies, when he has won more than FSG.

Is it not fairer to say:
1) Both owners want to win trophies. They also both want to run a profitable business (and believe, quite reasonably, that the two objectives can be alligned).

2) FSG have probably been more successful in the above endeavours thus far.

3) A large part of this is down to the appointment of a central key figure. Arsenal have suffered post Wenger (to a great degree the Klopp of his day) while Liverpools fortunes turned on the appointment of Klopp.

That just feels a bit more reasonable than some rather sensationalist perspective that an ownership who have won multiple cup competitions dont want to win cup competitions.

The frustration was with Betts who was the star player in a rebuilding Redsox team.

Mookie Betts already said he wanted to test free agency, the money he was asking for absurd to stay, but the Dodgers who are the richest team in America gave him a 12 year $365 million contract, they paid over by a $100 million, Dodgers will be paying Betts $35 million a year from 34-39 years old when he is well past his best, he's having a poor season right now in the 1st year of the contract.

It's why the Redsox are reknowned as the best run in the sport, only team who win and rebuild and win in quick succession, 5 championships.

Fa Cups are Arsenals level under Kreonke, always be the case, FSG go for the bigger trophies and contend for them more, they are not bothered with winning division titles (that get play off spots) and Fa Cups and caraboa cups it's why they play a weakened teams in it, Kreoke hasn't qualified for the Top 4, hasn't got to a CL final, hasn't had arsenal in a title race never mind win the big prizes, he hasn't won a championship with 5 teams he owns since FSG got into the sports business.

Kreonke aims small because he doesn't care, you want to talk about frustration at ownership, ask Arsenal, Nugget, Rapid, Rams and Avalanche fans about their owner. lol

You are thinking like a customer not a fan.

You'd hope so, but we've been around long enough to know that it ALWAYS works out for them.
