Yes but usually they are fighting actual boxers, even if they are journeymen. Jake Paul has fought a YouTuber, a retired NBA player, a retired MMA fighter who had basically had a hip replacement and another MMA fighter who has a good right hand but isn’t a boxer.

It really annoys me the way they talk about his “professional record”. Maybe if he ever fights an actual boxer then he can get some credibility.

There is an audience and in fairness to him he’s getting people paid. But it’s a complete sham. Ben Askren clearly just took the money, put no effort into it at all and lost in the first round.

Jake Paul does have some talent but he’s a good amateur at best. If he fights a proper boxer who does a proper training camp he will get smoked. Which is why he isn’t fighting any proper boxers.

Those fights he's had have been faker than anything WWE does.

Askren definitely took a dive. Woodley had rocked him in the 4th and then just let him off the hook.
 
I was against it completely initially, but to be honest he’s won me over. Regardless of what you say it takes balls for anyone to get in the ring, massive balls. That’s from a 9 year old kid starting out from their first spar to the highest level pro. So respect must be given and to do it on a stage showcased to the world.

I doubt many people would get in for a white collar fight never mind what Paul has done, and yes he’s not fighting boxers but last night he fought a former UFC world champion, for someone with 0 amateur experience that’s good going.

The fights from a boxing perspective have technically been awful, he will he chinned the minute he fights anyone with the slightest boxing ability, however he’s had a go and fair play to him.

Made a few quid for himself in the mean time also. Respect to him.
