KEAN
NKOUNKOU

Those signings have destroyed us. In a precarious position when he took charge, they have put us over the cliff.
You missed Richarlison, Digne, Godfrey, Doucoure, Allan, Gray, Branthwaite and Townsend which are good signings.

Nkounkou was £250k and a good signing.
Kean will turned a good profit.
James was also an exciting signing.
Bernard was decent for the first season and a free transfer. He has also been moved on for actual money.

I don’t particularly want to go down the route of defending Brands, but some of the stuff written on here is just ridiculous. Blame him for the things he needs to be blamed for but cut the rubbish out. A much bigger part of the problem has been the tidal wave of players signed by the previous regime who wouldn’t move on and who saw their contracts out to the bitter end.

Never in a million years Brands signings.

You cant defend the indefensible.

Seems to be a blundering oaf who has little knowledge of how a football team should be organised and developed - he couldn't direct traffic! Hats off to him for rinsing the club, rewarding him with a decent salary. Really sad that a great club should be run by incompetent buffoons.

Yep, means we wouldn’t have a dithering dolt in charge of transfers
No we'll just have a different person with partial control who has to balance the whims of an owner who knows nothing and the selfish short term desires of which ever manager shows up with an attempt to improve the squad. That is what has to change for the main doing it to matter.

Fire Brands, but don't expect it to change.

Brands doesn’t appear to have much of a backbone to tell Moshiri to back off and let him do what he’s paid for. Look over the park for example FSG let Michael Edwards get on with his job and didn’t interfere with signings or sales

He reminds me of people I used to work with, who were on term time.
They never worked in the summer either.

I would love to know who he’s actually picked out and signed.
Deffo no one in the past two windows.

He quite clearly is not up to the job. He had an entire summer to find a right back! But Brands has a seat in the boardroom, so is therefore bulletproof. A dysfunctional board, a dysfunctional director of football, and a dysfunctional football club in general. One trophy in the last thirty four years is living proof of that. Benitez to be fair as much as i don't like him, is getting the results so far. But this dud of a director of football is doing him no favours. He should go back to PSV Eindhoven.

I don't really know that there is a way to do that though. It's certainly easier sitting here to suggest Brands out to tell Moshiri to 'koff than when you're in the room with him.
