Transfer Rumour Luis Diaz

To be fair to Gray and Townsend they've offered a hell of a lot more over 4 games than the bulk of our other attacking transfers over recent seasons. Tosun, Niasse, Bernard. Christ we've done some garbage business in recent years.
They’ve played 3 games mate; Bernard was excellent in his first season. Him and Digne was a throwback to Pienaar and Baines. So let’s not pretend he was some dosser who did nothing. He was horribly mismanaged in his second season and then clearly had some very difficult mental health issues

Literally nobody had any hopes for Tosun or Niasse so I’m not even arguing for them, total waste of money from the off

That’s the attacking lineup I’d expect of a team like Sunderland

Rafata has really brought this club lower than Moyes’ knife to a gunfight mentality
Has nothing to do with Rafael. Our accounts are stuffed thanks to brands and previous managers burning money on trash.

But please keep blaming the new guy if it makes you sleep at night.

Not if you were paying attention he wasn't

Its almost like a midtable club with no dosh is unable to go out and pad the squad with Lukaku, Grealish & Sancho.

But don't let that get in the way of the #agenda

Well he was, let’s remember we watch football with our eyes and not a spreadsheet
Your eyes deceived you then, he was crap start to finish, a lot of Evertonians seemingly forgot what good wing play looked like after Mirallas went crazy and thought a nice touch and some stepovers were all it took. Bernard was poor.

Hahaha pipe down lad. You’re talking to someone who has actually watched winning Everton sides.

The state of that comment

I liked Bernard, he just flattered to deceive. Don't remember him and digne been anything like baines and pienaar but the point I was making is we have chucked so much money at big transfers/big wages that haven't worked. I've no problem with us going for players who haven't done the biz and have something to prove with smaller fees. I accept it's early days with Gray and Townsend but already it looks like both can offer more to the team than others in the squad, not really arsed if they aren't big names/record fees if they get the job done.

Entirely correct re Bernard mate

They were fantastic together in his first season and had a wonderful understanding, it’s why Digne was such an attacking threat. Bernard would drag defenders out of position and Digne would exploit the space.

Anyway; Townsend is Townsend. He’s like an old reliable car, you know what you get with him. Gray has been hounded by inconsistency throughout his career, it’s why he signed for us for £1.5m. So granted he’s had a good start, I’ll happily revisit his thread in 12 months when those same posters are hating for his blood
