Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth on The Transfer Show:
"We learnt this morning that Everton had made a loan enquiry for Ainsley Maitland-Niles. It came with an option to buy. We’re told that offer was rejected by Arsenal and it’s looking increasingly likely that Maitland-Niles will remain at Arsenal this window.
"Arsenal have bene in the market for a right-back, but haven’t managed to get one. I’m just wondering now if Maitland-Niles’ versatility will be used for the remainder of the season.
"However, soon after that news came out regarding Everton, Maitland-Niles posted on his Instagram.
"You can see there is a difference of opinion here. Maitland-Niles does want to leave because he feels he isn’t getting the opportunities he deserves at Arsenal. Arteta has chosen the likes of Cedric and Chambers ahead of him at right-back. Maitland-Niles’ preference has always been to play in a midfield role and Arsenal already have quite a packed midfield, so he hasn’t got a look-in there.
"As it stands, it looks like Maitland-Niles is staying at Arsenal, but it was a late one when he want to West Brom in the last window. Who knows, there could yet be a Deadline Day twist."

Deals don't just happen you get an idea the selling club will be open to it... I guess if Arse have U turned then no it isn't our fault. However not securing a right back before now is poor.
