And Mexico's Roster - 16 out of 20 are from the Gold Cup folks, aka, even without Chicharito, Mexico's bringing the big guns:

MEXICO ROSTER FOR U.S. FRIENDLY
GOALKEEPERS - Guillermo Ochoa (AC Ajaccio), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca).

DEFENDERS - Efrain Juarez (Real Zaragoza), Francisco Rodriguez (VfB Stuttgart), Hector Moreno (Espanyol), Carlos Salcido (Fulham), Rafael Marquez (New York Red Bulls), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Paul Aguilar (America).

MIDFIELDERS - Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul), Israel Castro (Cruz Azul), Jesus Zavala (Monterrey), Sinha (Toluca), Andres Guardado (Deportivo de La Coruna), Christian Bermudez (Atlante), Javier Aquino (Cruz Azul).

FORWARDS - Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham), Pablo Barrera (West Ham), Oribe Peralta (Santos Laguna), Omar Arellano (Chivas de Guadalajara).

I still think Brad Davis needs a look again.... he is the best left footed mid fielder the USA has in my opinion.... he's very good dribbling and his set pieces are fantastic... he's been fantastic for an under talented Houston Dynamo team the last two years. He looked good in the MLS All Star game also...

I just don't get it.... but this is just one game...

Can't wait for Stuart Holden to be ready to play for the USMNT again also....

Finally I'd love to see Geoff Cameron moved to central defender full time and get a camp or two with the USMNT.

You may get to see 2 out of those 3 things against Costa Rica...

Stu is so far away from being match fit yet, I don't think we'll see him until 2012.

Zach Loyd replaces Timmy Chandler.

Confirmation that Timmy Chandler is out due to wanting to earn time at his club, not other reasons. He has committed to both the Costa Rica and Belgium friendlies (though how he'd play both + travel, I don't know, but he'll be there!).

Edu injured and out, Robbie Rogers in. Updated roster:
GOALKEEPERS (2): Bill Hamid (D.C.United), Tim Howard (Everton)
DEFENDERS (8): Carlos Bocanegra (Saint-Etienne), Edgar Castillo (Club America), Zach Loyd (FC Dallas), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Heath Pearce (Chivas USA), Tim Ream (New York Red Bulls)
MIDFIELDERS (7): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt), Robbie Rogers (Columbus Crew), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), José Torres (Pachuca)
FORWARDS (5): Freddy Adu (Benfica), Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls), DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Edson Buddle (FC Ingolstadt), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy)

Robbie Rogers?

Oh man.

What does Brad Davis have to do to get a look? I mean seriously.

Apparently, have pace.

Sigh. I don't get it either. Cause even though he has speed, Robbie Rogers has not much else.

Robbie Rogers is antithesis of what Juergen was brought in to do. More technical, non standard US palyers. I guess he does not want to shake the boat too much?

I just think he is bringing in changes slowly. Hoepfully.... He does have a long leash....

Just saw Bradley will be interviewing for the Egypt National Coach.

Juergen has personal experience with Rogers. He's there as a pacy late sub.

From that roster, it appears he will run the same 4-4-2 he ran with Germany, but with the overkill on CMs, he could try an experimental 3-5-2.

I think the most likely game day selection will be:

Howard
Dolo -- Goodson -- Boca -- Castillo
Donovan -- Torres -- Bradley -- Beasley
Adu(SS)
Buddle (ST)

I sure hope so.

That will be the final nail in the coffin of the last of a dying breed...

...the "MB plays only because Dad was the coach" crew.
