That's been the case for very few top teams in recent years. The RS would be the exception but they also have them being the primary wide attackers. If we aren't doing that it isn't a good example to look at.
Get what you are saying but it makes it difficult to be flexible if you have limited fullbacks. For 3 at the back to be a success, you are reliant on them to be your only wide men and provide a lot going forward.

He's still decent and we need someone so at a cut rate it is worth it. I actually don't think the injury did as much damage so much as people just came back to Earth and realized he isn't Cafu. It was a hype thing. He was overrated and when people realized that they switched all the way around and now he's a bit underrated.
Big wages

We need more than two competent centre mids in the squad. At the moment our midfield is Allan and Docuoure that’s it. Obviously hopefully Gbamin can be added to that. Even then that’s only three players before we’re back into Delph Gomes Davies who aren’t good enough.

How many centre midfielders have we signed each window though - three and two in each of the last two transfer windows and Gomes on loan before that, over 100 mill spent, it’s poor recruitment that we are here saying we need and are targeting centre midfielders again.

Three at the back is a different animal but still Chelsea won the league with Moses and Alonso. Functional. Nothing more until you've got the rest.

Not saying don't take opportunities to sign better btw but we are falling short of the basics with Seamus at this point and we don't need to go crazy spending to fix that.

Can’t believe how much the club have managed to lower expectations.
We’ve gone from turning our noses at Chelsea and United players, ‘’If they’re not good enough for them they aren’t good enough for us’’, to being excited at Championship players, all in 6 months.

I’m excited by good players. Don’t care where they’re coming from.
