Marcel Sabitzer available for £15m apparently @Nymzee - that tally with your knowledge of RB stuff? (I know he's good, btw, just wondering if that was the talk).

That's your attacking mid. If James is to go, it has to be someone of that level coming in imo. It's not even a risk at that price, it'd just be sensible business (if we had £15m) to go and get a player of that quality (regardless of James staying or going).

Versatile, plays in multiple systems, hard worker, more than good enough physically to play in the Prem, only turned 27 in March so a 3-4 year deal wouldn't be bad.

Only wants to move upwards.

That is probably true.

If all we are shifting is Rodriguez then we cant afford any of our targets. Others will have to go. Most likely one of Mina, Holgate, Kean or Gomes.
Holgate and Kean can go with my blessing provided the proceeds are fully and sensibly reinvested.

@Neiler Did a very good summary recently where taking into account COVID/stadium costs written off we're probably £10 million or so here or there from being over the limits.

Assuming the new stadium naming rights will commence this year once proper work begins on site to " help" towards "costs" of the ground and a reduction of the wage bill I imagine we'll have a small amount to spend this summer but getting big wages off the books will be a big help long term.

Villa Fan in peace. Just popped on to see what u guys think of the transfer window.

Regarding the 105m loss over 3 years. My understanding is that due to Covid this has changed to calculating the 3rd year profit / loss as the average of year 3 and year 4 so effectively pushing out FFP calculation to the end of the 4th year. It is also suggested that changes will be made to make it easier for clubs to comply with FFP due to the unforeseen losses due to Covid.

I guess with you guys too, you were always spending against the Grealish money one way or the other - whether he goes this window, or next year (assuming no horrific injury etc).

Basically, investing against pretty much a sure thing and you do have some wiggle room anyway even without that big sale.
