I continue to disagree with this plan, except against Italy.
Against anyone else the way you solve the back four problem is go balls to the walls and score 5 with all that weaponry moldering on the bench. Playing for 1-0 lets fate into the game, so you only do that if you can't score 5.
Against Italy you lose 3-2 that way, because you can't outscore that defense by going all-out attack. Enrique tried because he had to, but it can't be done with anything short of Pele and his band of merry Brazilians.
