It is what it is...

Did I want him? No

Do I like him? No

But if we give him a chance I think we might be surprised, it's a big risk for him too, his legacy across the road is red tarnished, reds I know are dismayed he managing us.

Boo boys need to give it a rest for a few months until we see how he approaches things.... I don't think he will suffer fools likely.... And we have quiet a few of those

Have you ever seen a less gushing Bill Kenwright quote:

“Rafael Benitez is joining Everton Football Club at an exciting time.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors I wish him well in achieving success for our football club - success our supporters long for and deserve.”

Not a happy bunny.
He's just as bad if he thinks Moyes or Martinez was the answer.

A club statement said: "The appointment of Benitez comes after a robust and wide-reaching recruitment process by the club over the last three weeks – a process which has included multiple interviews with several candidates.

Sure we did.

You ever tried walking from Goodison to the Wirral, mate?

I think it was a practical choice, he clearly wanted the job, I just hope it was the right reasons for us. He came across well in the interview for me, we need to get on with transfers and run the rule over any transfers he suggests please as his record isn't great! I hope he is successful and afforded patience, we will need patience with our squad as it stands.

Rafael walks in for the Everton interview.

"Hello, I've won trophies in numerous countries, I have been successful, I'm excited about this proj-"

"Yes, yes, all very interesting, but what we want to know is.... you're definitely going to keep Duncan Ferguson on if you get the job right?"

"I... what?"

"You've got to keep him."

"Why?"

"It's just... because... look, you just have to OK?"

"... OK."

So very odd.

So we‘ve had:-

An FA cup winning manager who now manages Belgium
One of the worlds greatest ex players who now manages Barcelona
Some fat mess who got gravy stains all over the seats and was once the England Manager.
A young up and coming manager who still hasn’t got a job
One of the Worlds greatest Managers who now manages Real Madrid
and now a CL winning manager who unfortunately won trophies with the RS

Moshiri has tried every type of manager and provided funds for players, you can ask no more from an owner. We have players who need turfing out of the club and a disciplinarian to get the best from those who remain. Benitez may not succeed, but he can do no worse than those above....we’ve tried everything else......
