Rank hypocrisy from them and their fans. They kicked up a stink about anyone going near that idea for years. Fair enough. Understandable. However it just underlines what a scumbag club they are by doing a 180 and fitting them in...for cash reasons.

My fear is that The RS's "finest" will go after them if they don't back it or criticise the club

This could end up being a pretty big issue

I personally think rail seating is a good idea and it's generally safe, so if Liverpool are adopting it then it makes it easier for us to do it as well, which is a good thing in the long run

My hope is that they at least gave the families a heads up and got their approval first

In fairness mate, the FSF have come out in favour of "safe" standing. To me it's a bit of an oxymoron so it will never be for me. Personally after what happened at Hillsborough I wouldn't want to go back to the standing route. Those days people pine for are long gone, and in honesty were never as great as people thought anyway.

True. I stood on the Kippax at Maine road for years and years and then one year decided to give the Main Stand which was opposite a go and had seating.
I remember being blown away by how much better the view was and much more you actually saw of the game. It was a revelation. I'm not really a fan mate and I'm not sure it can ever be that safe.

But I also think there's a lot of nostalgia for what football was pre 1990 and there was a lot of bad and good. A lot of days standing on a half empty terrace with very little atmosphere.

Thats not how it's going to be though? Railed standing so there is enough space for everyone and with modern technology the numbers in the stand are monitored. Away games when we score are dangerous with people falling over seats because everyone stands anyway.

It works safely in stadiums all over. look at Dortmund, biggest stand in Europe and thats all standing isn't it? Celtic Park in that corner, never any issues with crowding. The kop all generally seem to stand most games I see them lot in anyway so having a proper rail in-front of standing fans as opposed to the back of a plastic seat at shin level is much safer.

I'm surprised the rs have been the first to say they're doing this in England but if it's with the blessing of the families then I don't see the problem tbh.

People need to understand, it's not going to be going back to concrete stands and barriers from prem teams, it's safe and controlled.
