Why are people so against this idea? He's the only manager I've seen linked who's done a good job recently at similar sort of project. Wolves had ambitious owners but the team lacked an identity. He came in, instilled a mentality, came across brilliantly and only had one bad season, the one just finished, where he lost his top goal-scorer early on. Still finished nowhere near danger though.

'Negative football' is just pure rubbish spouted by hipsters, we had a manager who believed in loads of possession and it was probably the worst period I can remember as a 21st century supporter. There's just effective and non-effective football, find a style that's most effective with the players you've got.

Not my first pick but I'd give him a chance.
Two seventh place finishes with Wolves is not to be sniffed at, I think he could be quite a solid manager... just not really inspiring.

Seems he's been very hit and miss with the signings he's made there, some really bad ones last summer

Managerless club in talks with unemployed manager. This thread is such a good metaphor for Everton football club : (

Please no.
I’m done with Everton if we get this guy in. He did nothing at Wolves... nothing!

Their season completely crumbled after injury to one player (Jimenez). To me, that suggests Wolve's recent relative successes was more down to one excellent player rather than a good team/tactics set up by the manager.

Had DCL missed 6 months we'd have finished well down the league as well, teams need a goalscorer or they simply won't win many matches. Wolves were still a game for anyone last year and have undoubtedly taken massive strides forward as a club under him.

Be worth a go.

To be honest, I don't be think he had much option on the signings. It's whomever Mendes wants Wolves to sign.

With what we've seen over most of the last decade I just want someone to come in and get the players showing a bit of effort and as if they actually give a damn!
