Wouldnt it be nice if he proved all the naysayers wrong, proved that everything he has said hasn't just been empty soundbites?
Wouldnt it be something if he saw our changes and decided he wanted to stick around and be the leader and the hero we all want him to be? A talisman that leads us to glory in spite of Carlo leaving us in the lurch?
Surely we deserve at least 1 positive, 1 bit of luck out of this entire scenario.
I like to think that deep down, he's a good person who loves football and wants to be loved.
That maybe we get a manager who assesses the squad he takes over and in the face of all the upheaval and the obvious overhaul the squad badly needs, realises and appreciates the 1 potential ace he has in the hand he's been dealt, and sells him on the idea of staying.
Same applies for Allan.
We deserve some good news, for once.
But I won't hold my breath
