If they got rid of Jose just to save a few quid in compo before he had chance to win something or get into the European positions then they deserve everything they get as they're finishing 8th and only ahead of us and Leeds by goal difference.

Spurs to get back to mid table mediocrity of the 80's 90's and 00's and sacking managers every 2 seasons with a odd cup run every year that ends in 1.

I thought it was weird Roma went for Mourinho so quickly after he was binned. You would normally expect clubs to give it a bit of time to get an understanding of what went wrong and how much of it was on the manager.

The word is that Mourinho wanted Dias (before Man City) Fernandes (before United) and one other. Think mid table obscurity beckons for Spurs, on the back of all that.

Id rather be where we are than where they are at the moment. The key will be the Kane deal. If they sell him for good money and let a good new manager but quality they could keep themselves where they are for a while. If they waste the money or get a poor manager in then it could be a bad period for them as cash seems tight with the new stadium and they don’t seem to have another Kane or Alli coming through to rescue them.

Could be Bale all over again. Sell their one world-class player and then jizz the money on multiple not good enough players.

There were loads praising Levy a couple of years ago but all he did was, by law of averages, make an uncharacteristically excellent managerial appointment and rode those coat-tails. For all the talk of the stadium it came in years later than planned, missed several more deadlines (after selling season tickets!) failed the last hurdle again and saw them squatting in Wembley and playing a home game at MK Dons when Wembley wasn't available. All massively over budget - even by the normal over budget standards.

It was a farce but the whole "Spurs Model" mantra was repeated by the Spurs supporting press who were as blinded by the shiny stadium as they are to the fact that they're just another London club....and by some on here desperately swinging around for something to beat the "Carpetbagger" with.

Once that excellent manager left it was back to normal Levy standards.

Don't see Kane at City tbh, apparently he wants £80m in wages over a contract and that's on top of a £150m fee, City just don't spend that sort of money on players.
It'd be a strange one to me.

If City are gonna throw big money at a striker then I reckon it would be someone younger who can give them 10 years like Aguero did and doesn't have old man ankles like Kane does.

Haaland would probably be cheaper and represents a much better option in the long term. And they've probably got a list as long as my arm of strikers all over the shop who'd be half that price.

Where’s Steve Walsh right now ?
He’s the man for this deal.

City's midfield scored 35 goals in the league this season. If they spend 150 on Kane it just doesnt make any sense. What does Kane add to City, that they dont already have? City have scored the most goals in the league, ran away with it and are in the champions league final.

If you spend 100 let alone 150 on one player you have absolutely zero excuse to not win the league and champions league. With Kane's ambition and City's structure thats the end of Klopp's reign and the start of the demise.

I think its important for Harry to be looked at the most important player of the club. Realistically Kane will and should go to United. Hell be the man of that club.

Then again who am i to tell the sheikh how to spend his "Hard" earned billions.

Good post.
As a City fan I wouldn't be to to dissapointed if he didn't sign for us.
He's to old, no resale value and is injury prone. Not sure he would
fit into our system either. As you say United would be right club for him.
He can be the main man which I agree, that seems important to him
and he will double his wages. Would be a good move for him.
