Clearly our best player, but I really don't think he wants to be here. Seems like he's on a 'play when you feel like it' agreement with the club. Him and a few others are just here to keep fit for the Euro's, and it shows.

Of course, he'd rather be here, playing at an empty Goodison, in the rain in May, for a team in 8th place, than being at Real Madrid in the sun challenging for the title or at Bayern polishing another league title medal. Why would he not? Don't be daft.

Still looked unfit yesterday (no surprise, he's injured and really shouldn't be going to the Copa but of course he will be) and wasn't great - and again, we're so crap that if he has a bad game, we have a bad game.

But he still created our best chance with one moment of magic that should have resulted in a goal.

He shouldn't be playing central, not in games when we want to be dictating it. He should be right in a three up top like at the start of the season and, assuming he can play on Wednesday, that's where he should start and the midfield should pick itself because Davies should be in there with Allan and Doucoure.

Not that it matters.

If you put Davies, Allan and Doucoure in there, with Allan and Doucoure able to cover the flanks and Davies sitting, then it shouldn't be a problem.

That's the template you can build from, with better players to drop in.

Personally don't think he can be compared even with Lukaku yet in terms of the impact made. He's a great player but his impact is always going to be limited due to injuries and the midfield forcing him to drop deep and do their job.

Something happened mid season with Richalrison and all of a sudden the 433 and 4231 formations with him on the left in both weren’t used again. Maybe DCL scoring put his nose out of joint but we seemed to have moved to either the diamond of the 532 just to get Richarlison and DCL upfront together and neither of them have repaid it.
