Champions League revamp

People saying the TV deals for prem clubs will take a hit if the 6 leave?

It will take a bigger hit if they stay imho.

Honestly who’s going to pay to watch a competition that isn’t really a competition because nobody outside of the 6 gain anything from being in it apart from survival?

You’d still have the customers of the big 6 paying I suppose. But will they even care about a competition that’s been devalued so much?

Kick them out is the only option if they go ahead with the SL. You pander to these clubs and this is what you get.
Exactly where suggesting that without them we are nothing! Bollox I hope they go I mean Spurs aren’t even the biggest side in the Championship City where born about 15 years ago same as Chelsea

Looking at it the wrong way mate. Perhaps I wasnt clear.

The scab clubs want the scab league, and stay in the PL. Currently, the PL have the power to drop them. So, one more PL club in the scab league, and they have control back.

Out of the 14, who would you approach? A club who have panned it, or one who hasnt, and whose owner couldnt care less, fan wise?

One that can't say no, that you could ruin if they don't go along with what you want. That means one thats in huge debt.

Owners can be fickle, but all the 14 owners / groups of owners know what this will do to their investment, and the selling price. I doubt any of them will go along with the six just for the lulz.

Me and my mate were thinking
In a competition where they pay you way more than now and there is no risk to be eliminated or relegated, why would a player actually put effort in it?
I would just grab my money and go walking up and down the field.
For a couple of years you would do it for the glory. After that? Any team who will have no chance to go to the play off will just have their players doing the bare minimum because there would be no real consequences.
I won't exactly call it thrilling spectacular football.

But it's not about playing big teams every single week.
As Pep says: Going to Turf Moor to play Burnley is like going to the dentist!
It's all part of the mix which makes our league what it is (or at least did).
It's about grinding out some results out to eventually be crowned the champions.
After 38 games the table does not lie. It will now. The scabby six will have
different teams to play in each competition. Its ruined.
It’s not a replacement PL it’s a replacement CL and that’s what the owners are thinking. From what I read it’s something like 10 games then the top 4 of each group go in to knock out. So not really an extra 38 games. An the big 6 can’t be relegated but it’s only the same as the CL just they cut out UEFA and gain loads of money
They should have called it a Super Cup or something

They won't, and probably quite quickly they'll find no need for the PL (after trashing it as a spectacle first).

That is why they've got to be kicked out if they are not going to drop this. We are now in a competition with the SL.

I think for this to work with the clubs not in their domestic leagues, they actually need more than 20 teams, and more than 1 trophy to win each season. Or it will be really boring for the fans of these clubs that don't win it. In the current plan they only have 18 games per season in the group stage and 5 more if you make it to the final. Imagine if you are a fan of one of these teams and out of the opening 9 games you win 3 lose 3 and draw 3. You have 9 more games with barely any hope of getting in to the top 4 and the knock out phase, season over in December.

Bomb the Slimy 6

I've still got 15 pages to catch up on, so apologies if what I say has already been posted, BUT, I'm sure the organisers of the Super League already have plans to have games played on the African continent, Malasia, China, USA and so on. So all they would have to do is put the English teams' home games in one o fthose countries. Problem solved for them...
