Champions League revamp

Has any club not made a statement yet? One saying its shabite I mean.

Because, and this has literally just dawned on me, and left me feeling a bit cold.

They need one more PL club in the scab league to defeat any vote to sack them off. Y'know, like an unprincipled business man, who has total disdain for his clubs fans, who might be looking to flog the club to some Saudis........

TBF clubs who've refinanced with big loans from US banks / hedge funds would be the likely scabs.

These teams cannot have their own super league and play in the premier league. That's the long and short of it.

There will be a lot of back and forth and negotiating over the next months but the PL position has to be that if this league starts, then the 6 are out. If it comes to that point then you move on without them. There are no good solutions in this for clubs like us but we need to make sure the PL is competitive and has integrity. The short term hit would be huge, but British football will recover in time and life would go on.

The idea that football can't continue without these 6 is a ludicrous angle. It can't continue in the current form with the current costs and business models but the game would continue and keep growing because people like football and that won't change. It's two teams, two nets, a ball, people watching, a bit of excitement after a boring week. A simple game that people like.

How much would that charge boozers to put it on and would anyone go to watch it ?

I wouldn’t and I haven’t spoken to anyone who would either.
Watching footy for me has changed anyway this season.
I used to watch all the build up etc. Now I just turn on at kick off watch the game and then turn it off.
Loads of games I haven’t even watched, as Brighton / Sheff United really dosent bother me.

Hang on.
Let’s not pretend Blackburn didn’t buy the league here.

Buying the league isn't the big problem. That's the dangers of a largely free market - if someone sees inherent value in pumping money into something, so be it; it's up to others to match it or bow out. It's a separate discussion as to whether we should have salary caps, draft systems etc.

The problem with the Super League isn't financial; it's the competitive aspect. As in there's no competition; these teams no longer have a risk of failure. They are franchised. Nobody else gets in, nobody goes out.

“Hi Sergio Aguero I know you’re against this idea so how about challenging for the title again next season at Everton without up rooting your family” M Brands

The problem is, the majority of these owners are thousands of miles away and it really doesn't effect them 1 tiny bit.

Thats why "we" need not to demonize the players and the managers of these clubs, these are the people we need on side and in fairness the majority are.

The players have the ability to kill this stone dead by refusing to play, mass gestures, speaking out.

They won't. You'll get the odd token tweet.
