Champions League revamp

Rummenigge. The convicted tax doger

Without a shadow of a doubt that's the general feeling. Infact it's the total feeling.
I know it counts for nothing but Wycombe, Macclesfield, York away in the old third division
and then this? The club has gone. It's done. We have been crapped on and the club are going to
have to accept that. As if they even care though?

Did you get Joel Glaziers statement on your website too? Must hurt that.
What do you think fans will do? What will you do? Always welcome at Everton (kopites aren't though, they stink).

What I dont get is the 12 clubs have shown they have zero loyalty to UEFA so why are they trying to get them back?

Dont they realise 5+ years of big investment and CL qualification and the likes of Sevilla, Napoli, Everton etc would have the sort of power the likes of Spurs, Milan and Athletico currently do?

Kick them out and make it financially incentive to start developing the other clubs instead of kicking the can down the road.

If they let these 12 clubs back with no punishment and a bumper new CL deal they are utter disgraces and the rest of the teams from the domestic need to be united in downing tools as they have shown loyalty and been spat at in the face.
The "other" clubs don't believe that they will earn the same from TV deals without the renegades. And they are, sadly, correct. So, it's not really in anybody's interests to kick them out. It's realpolitik. It's simply a question of whether there is a pyramid or not. UEFA is the means to maintaining a pyramid, but it's slowly crumbling.

Yes I would go along with most of that. All I'd say is some sort of short term truce is very different to getting a medium term truce.

I still think there's a fair bit of equity in the-they get booted out camp.

Yeah very much so - but "in the interests of the fans & grassroots football" and so on - gives them all the space for PL to maintain status quo; UEFA to hold european football with revamp and concessions & 12 getting some extra bones thrown in

It weird. What can you do? As you know you just can't start supporting another club after 55 years of watching them.
I just keep hoping we will pull out but I know thats not going to happen. I won't be renewing my season ticket for next season,
that much I do know. At the moment I don't even care about watching them on TV against Villa tomorrow night.
I'll probably just go and watch some local non league team. But my boyhood local club Droylsden went bust last year so that
option has gone also. It's all a bit confusing right now.

That’s what I’m saying, how far do these NDAs go? Did the media get wind of it way before? If so, how long.

Are these assets going to accept being unable to play in international tournaments going forward? Surely they looked into the possibility before going with it.
It would be absolute madness if the Prem/FA/UEFA/FIFA do not have NCA/non-compete clauses within their contracts.

Though I am sure that this would have been launched at the horrors if the game had protected itself.

Because UEFA's budget is funded by the broadcast rights. It's the same reason the NCAA never lays the hammer down on the basketball teams of Kentucky, or Kansas, or North Carolina - their budget is almost entirely funded by the broadcast rights to the men's basketball tournament, and those teams bring a whole lot of eyeballs.

So on the one hand Ceferin makes threats he would prefer not to enforce, but is willing to if it comes to it because to do otherwise is to cede all control, and on the other he asks Heinz-Rumenigge and Al-Khelaifi what these guys want to return to the fold.

I am not sure why they can't just ban them now. They had no problem banning English teams from Euro competitions in the 80's after Heysel.

If you ask me, because they were English, everyone blamed them for the rise of hooliganism and they were not about to pass on an ironclad excuse to kick them out.
