Champions League revamp

Are they stupid or just *that* arrogant?

No they'll know they can't win that fight, but what the aim is to drag a court process out through the Euros so the players can compete.

It'd be mad if they even get an injunction at all though.

Prem should tell the six that can come back, but only the first 3 to bin the Super League won't be punished

Divide them and watch them come scurrying back. You can then punish the other 3 for holding on too long. Fines, points deductions, expulsion and European bans depending on how long it takes to cower.

how about 15 point deductions the others and for LFC and MUFC they should be relegated 3 divisions as they were the instigators

Good luck with that.

You can't compel an organisation of their own tournament to select players if they don't want to.

Playing international football isn't a human right.

Conversely, they'll be sued to oblivion in exchange when they leave for breach of commitment, particularly in relation to things like breaking Rule L9 - and rightly so.

If they'll try to put on some sad story about how they really really want to play for the nationals but to do so they should give up the millions they'll gain in the ESL I will puke.

They don't see it in terms of players and teams. They see it in terms of assets. They're irrelevant.

All of these discussions are done with strict NDAs, the wider the scope the less secure they are.

That’s what I’m saying, how far do these NDAs go? Did the media get wind of it way before? If so, how long.

Are these assets going to accept being unable to play in international tournaments going forward? Surely they looked into the possibility before going with it.

Whatever the outcome of this ESL, there needs to be reform and restructure of football finance.

If this backfires for the 12 and they get more cash from the newly structured Uefa champions league we will be back where we started, in fact , worse.

This should be the catalyst for a re-set, salary caps, and trying to level the playing field again. Only then can we start to see a pure football again.

The World Cup and Euro's are FIFA and UEFA competitions. Im assuming if the superleague clubs breakaway they are not registerd to either body, therefore the players arnt registered to either?

So if they arnt registered that would make them ineligible?

They're not pulling out though, are they? They basically want to stay in the Premier League but bin off the Champions League, with this new thing by default being the CL but with them getting all the money and no competition. I'm not sure what the regulations would be if the PL kicked them out, as then presumably the legal comeback would be on them rather than the clubs, unless there are clear rules that would allow them to do so.
