Is it better than the film? I watched episode one and gave up.
Series one isn’t too good tbh, but it gets better as it goes along and series 2 is much better, as Sean Bean comes in as Mr Wilford and steals the show.

Started that too, interesting watch. Grim is the right word.1 episode into the serpent. Kin grim. Drugging someone has to be one of the creepiest things a human being can do to another
I finished it the other week. The cast were great, and it did a superb job early of building the suspense, but it totally lost my attention towards the end. Had they kept it more implied rather than overt it would have been superb. It`s my second time around watching it and I`m appreciating the attention to detail much more this time around.
I really wished they`d made more episodes and really gone into finer detail, as they did in the book ( nearly 800 pages )

Gets better for sure.Is it better than the film? I watched episode one and gave up.
I think it fell between two stools with regards suspense. It didn't know which way to pursue.Spot on mate.
If they`d stuck to the central premise of the book ( full supernatural ), it`d have been much more effective.
Shame really, as but for that it`d been a 10/10.
