ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I mean this Arnold thing is absolute madness. Most of their fans have slaughtered him for months. Then they go on about him like he's one of these top talents. He's a lad who had a great season or 2, but has now been found out. He's been at fault for multiple goals, gives tghe ball away record number of times and has created very little.

In terms of right backs, these lads are all miles ahead of him;
Trippier
Walker
AWB
Reece James

Younger right backs who will probably overtake him:
Lamptey
Aarons

In honesty, there is a very good case that both Holgate and Godfrey have played better as right backs this season than him as well. He's not even close to the England squad on current performance level this season.

The likes of Hughes will just pick a culture war though to try and feel hard done to.
Stretching it there with Holgate like. Alexander Arnold reminds me of Glen Johnson, good going forwards but constantly out of position when defending or found wanting defensively when squared up to.

Easiest thing to do is blame Pickford!

Indicative of the hold they have over the media. Stones and Walker have both been omitted from recent squads despite both playing for a team who were champions at the time and had been part of the 2018 world cup team. Not a whimper. Reece James doesn’t get picked, no ones bothered, same with Wan Bissaka, Trippier is out, no one cared less.

Alexander Arnold gets dropped (rightly so) - right that’s it, toys out the pram, get every pundit talking about it, let’s gets articles questioning Southgate, maybe he’s never liked him, there’s an agenda, he’s too much of a playmaker. Even Gerrard was weighing in on it, what’s it got to do with him? A manager in his finest hour having won a title yet he’s compelled to weigh in on a routine selection issue for England. All because not a single one of them will ever accept any perceived sleight whatsoever against their cult.

Defences win international tournaments and Alexander Arnold can’t defend. Case closed from Southgate’s perspective.

I think most of them have ignored it though in the media. It's just a ridiculous hill to die on for them. He's not been good enough, and I've named about 10 better right backs off the top of my head. There are better younger right backs coming through (James, Aarons, Lamptey) who will displace him, as he did with Trippier and Trippier did with Walker.

The only difference is, Tripper and Walker are better than Arnold.

They must be floating that £90Mill on the off chance somebody might believe them and pay it.
He was barely worth half when he was 'good'
Exactly this. Where has the £90m price tag come from?
Some Liverpool friendly journo who floats it out there so it
becomes the perceived value? He's £50m absolutely tops.

90 million for a fullback who's broke the record 3 times this season for giving the ball away, they love all this over hype for a player , when contracts need reviewing the player will want the wages to go with the hype, hopefully in 3 years their weekly wages will look like this.
Salah 600,000
Mane 599,999
Firmino 500,000
Trent 750,000
Henderson 1,.200,000
Milner 150,000
Robertson 300kg of smack
Van dyke 3.500000
