He said that we don't let decent players see out the contract. Barkley did not see out the contract. You've moved the goalposts, then tried to claim that his original statement was wrong without actual evidence.

In candor, I don't see why anyone should bother engaging with you if that's how you're going to behave. In no way do those tactics contribute to a discussion.
Bolasie, besic and Walcott will leave on frees this summer and I’m sure a couple of players did last summer

I mean Abraham isn’t terrible, he’s improved a bit, but that just wouldn’t make sense given what sort of a fee they’d demand and we’ve already got two better centre forwards.

If we get Europe we'd be rotating a lot more, It's not like we need to sign a center forward to overtake Richarlison or DCL.

Why would we sell Holgate now rather than later? Is your thesis that the market overvalues him relative to his quality and the quality of comparable replacements? He's hardly surplus to requirements, by providing cover at multiple positions and ticking the pesky homegrown box.

If we have Europe next season, we're going to need to rotate in addition to coping with injuries, and having a player that can soak minutes at multiple positions would be quite valuable.
Well again, it’s not that I’m sat here saying ‘holgate must go’ or anything. If the club feel he’s a key member of the squad, or don’t believe they need to raise money through sales, then great, keep him.

For me he is theoretically expendable. If we signed aarons as an example, then he would replace him as home grown so that would be no issue, and as I can’t see Coleman going we’d have 2 actual right backs and Godfrey who can cover if needed. If branthwaite was to move up to the first team squad we’d have 3 senior centre halves and a 4th choice who could come in and do a job if needed, and would have raised decent funds to strengthen elsewhere. I know people like to say ‘he can play 38 different positions’ but realistically he’s only going to get used in those 2. Ancelotti has shown no desire whatsoever to use him in midfield or left back, so I really don’t see his supposed versatility in those roles as an important factor.

Personally I believe turning over decent players to raise money has been a weakness of ours in recent years- we tend to either sell our best assets or players who we just don’t want at all. In an ideal world, moving on decent squad players to raise money for better quality is the way to do it.

Swaps are rare but could well become more common in a market struggling for money. The swap values will be inflated too making selling for a profit almost impossible.
It may be a case where shops become common with clubs who have no money
Everton though will have money to spend and I’d say Carlo will be happy for Kean to come back into the squad if we do not get the required fee
Our recruitment will not be dependent on Kean being sold
If he is sold he will be replaced
