Everton Summer transfers 2021

Not sure how true this is. But apparently Mina is on 120k a week now and Keane in on 80k a week after his new 5yr deal.

so you can see how it would be much better to have Keane as a potential 2nd/3rd choice CN with Godfrey. Amd bring in a class new number 1. Than having Mina in that situation on ridiculous wages.

Obviously I know people will jump on the fact I’m saying we need a new top class CB. Deep down I think we do. But the point more about what we do with Mina. Maybe he see’s out his contract.

This isn’t true.

Beni Baningime has played only three minutes as a substitute since joining Derby County on loan from Everton.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined the Rams on transfer deadline day, February 1, and he was one of five loanees to arrive that day.

No mate.

Strange and given a good review!!!!!

We never let decent players see out their contract; they either sign again or we get money for them.

I'm sure you know this, but others may not.

Clubs make a decision to sell at two years remaining because after that all the leverage flips to the player. No one wants a repeat of the Lewandowski-to-Bayern fiasco. We had our own mini-version with Barkley.

If a player sees out a contract, one of three things is typically going on:

- The player is on excessive wages and will turn down a move involving a pay cut as a result. See: Koeman/Walsh.
- The player is older and has little sell-on value.
- The player is forcing a move that the club really hates, usually to a direct rival.

There are the odd cases like Messi, where Barca refusing to sell is basically a tacit admission of how grossly underpaid he is relative to his value to the club. By refusing to take 100 million pounds for a player that put in a formal transfer request and can leave on a free in the summer, they are basically admitting that he is worth that plus his salary for a single season of play, as they simply are not a CL club without him and their league TV contract would suffer.

Bloody hell, we missed out on free agent Colombian Carlos Sanchez (.joined Watford today ) .
I'm sure that he would have had a role bringing James a cup of tea and cleaning his boots.

Yeh and Mina has over 2 years on his deal. There's no way we'd let him see out his deal.

We only have some players seeing out their deal now and that's because they're so bad no one will buy them.

Pope + Henderson are clearly not as good as Pickford.

I mean, its pretty clear.

Yet Howard is considered 'good' lol

Pickford isnt the best, but hes not the worst. Hes erratic but that doesnt take away the benefits...

...hopefully its a turning point for him.

He said many many many times that we wouldnt spend £25mil last summer.

I think this summer we'll touch £80-100mil.
"It's clear" is really not an answer

Pope makes mistakes and has done this season , just doesn’t get the bad press Pickford gets. The VVD incident has made it worse obviously, with certain journalists wearing red hats, are going to jump on his every mistake.

I thought Pope made a mistake last night for the Leicester goal , he basically did a Tim Howard and came flying off his line for no reason amd made it easy for the Leicester player to score.
Pope makes saves though

No one is denying that
It’s just not on our immediate list of priorities
It’s like painting the garden shed when there is a massive hole in the roof of the main house and all the windows are broken
Nah it's like having a leak in the basement and saying it is fine because it doesn't rain every day

It all depends how ancelotti sees it really. Selling holgate theoretically makes loads of sense - it’d be pure book profit, would have little impact on the starting eleven assuming a new rb came in etc - but obviously if ancelotti sees him as a key player it wouldn’t be a goer. Gibson will only have a year left on his contract so loaning him out certainly wouldn’t build his value, it would just lead to him being released on a free.

Why would we sell Holgate now rather than later? Is your thesis that the market overvalues him relative to his quality and the quality of comparable replacements? He's hardly surplus to requirements, by providing cover at multiple positions and ticking the pesky homegrown box.

If we have Europe next season, we're going to need to rotate in addition to coping with injuries, and having a player that can soak minutes at multiple positions would be quite valuable.

There will not be many buyers for Kean at the price we would expect to get
Juve reportedly want him on loan as they can’t afford to buy
We may pick up bargains due to the pandemic but also have to realise that nobody is paying north of 40 m for Kean ( except PSG ) in the current market
The fact he failed in England will put some clubs off
Swaps are rare but could well become more common in a market struggling for money. The swap values will be inflated too making selling for a profit almost impossible.

Nah not at this club; even Barkley got us a fee. Mina will either sign a new deal next season or be sold, simple for me.
Well the idiots at the club have him a 4yr deal the summer they gave Lukaku a 5yr deal.

Let it run down to 12 months and Chelsea had our pants down
