Everton Summer transfers 2021

On what basis?

Pope + Henderson are clearly not as good as Pickford.

I mean, its pretty clear.

Pope makes mistakes and has done this season , just doesn’t get the bad press Pickford gets. The VVD incident has made it worse obviously, with certain journalists wearing red hats, are going to jump on his every mistake.

I thought Pope made a mistake last night for the Leicester goal , he basically did a Tim Howard and came flying off his line for no reason amd made it easy for the Leicester player to score.

Yet Howard is considered 'good' lol

Pickford isnt the best, but hes not the worst. Hes erratic but that doesnt take away the benefits...

...hopefully its a turning point for him.

We aren’t signing Anyone, going off your posts

He said many many many times that we wouldnt spend £25mil last summer.

I think this summer we'll touch £80-100mil.

Davies and mina? Both players have been great this season but they are slower than sin. Davies playing the holding roll looks good because he doesn't depend on pace and have you seen mina run?

Holgate and digne aren't quick either Digne has a wand of a left foot and good football brain but never breezes past people. Holgate looks quick next to Keane and mina

DCL Richy and Godfrey are our only pacey players really which is why we progress the ball so slowly as that's a cb and 2 strikers.
I would put doucoure there as well

I think some of it will depend on league position. If we somehow spawn our way into the Champions League Moshiri will definitely spend the extra money from that in advance. Otherwise it will probably be £20 to £30 million plus whatever we get from player sales.

He had just been relegated from the Prem when we bought him. The general consensus at the time seemed to be that he was the only reason Sunderland weren't dead and buried much earlier than they were.

It's funny, I'm in the North east and have lots of mates who support Sunderland. They were all glad to see the back of him and think they rinsed us (which I agree with)

Mina
Keane
Godfrey
Holgate
Branthwaite
Gibson

Two of these wont be in the squad next season + we will sign someone who can play CB.

One of Keane or Mina is probably gone. I can't see us buying a CB unless we sell both for some reason.

Branthwaite and Gibson don't cost much, so I can't see us selling either. Loans are a possibility.

Which is probably true, given that they got the fee on the back of a single season for a relegated club.

I'm just repeating what the pundits were saying, and not trying to claim that they were right.

I was always told the ball moves faster than the player. We don't move the ball quickly enough... its not that the players aren't fast enough..

Mixture of both really. We don’t really have a lot of fast players within the team. We literally have two players capable of running with the ball at speed, Richy and Dom. It also doesn’t help that we have no attacking outlet on the right hand side and no attacking midfielders with pace.

Under Martinez we were great at counter attacking, we had Mirallas on the left. Barkley, Lukaku and Deulofeu on the right, 4 players capable of breaking with pace and running with the ball at their feet. I always imagine just how good we could have been if we had as solid a defence as we have now.

I think that says it all really.

I can't see Raiola letting Kean come back here. I would fully expect a formal transfer request if we don't make arrangements with PSG.

I can't imagine that there will be a shortage of Italian suitors, though their funding situation is questionable, so I don't know that we can touch off a meaningful bidding war.
There will not be many buyers for Kean at the price we would expect to get
Juve reportedly want him on loan as they can’t afford to buy
We may pick up bargains due to the pandemic but also have to realise that nobody is paying north of 40 m for Kean ( except PSG ) in the current market
The fact he failed in England will put some clubs off
