They're also really bad at passing forward. I mean Doucoure is the highest energy player but if you can't get the ball, face upfield and accurately pass to someone a fair few times a game the team is still going to struggle in that area.

Allan and Doucoure have not helped us here. The times we've been better than last season are almost entirely down to James.
I think the main issue is down to mobility and creating space which in part stems from our lack of balance in the team. We are relatively easy to defend against as teams know the majority of the time we are going to go down the left and when we do go down the right we aren't up to much. Our midfielders are all perfectly capable of making good passes. The passes just often aren't there which causes them to try and force things and often give the ball away. Or turn around and play it back.

By far and away the thing we need to do most is sort out the right side of the team so that we can stretch opponents. It will create space in midfield and on both wings.

If you take out Iwobi, who Silva signed, Brands has got value for money with every other signing hes made.

Fabian Delph sleeps with the fishes?

Value for money and resale are different things.

Gomes cost 22m and hes played like a 22m player.

5 games he plays like a £5mil player and the 6th like a £70mil player...

England #1 is a meaningless title Goat. But you know that.

Its not meaningless. It has him up there as the best English player in that position playing in the best league in the world.

Its really not meaningless, in this country.

Being Americas number 1 on the other hand...............

...means a massively inflated reputation ?

I think you'll be vindicated in that assertion.

I fully expect Pickford to be with us for years - and, like you, I strongly suspect that Carlo sees his priorities in plenty other positions before he even considers an upgrade in goal.

Obviously, Pickford could play himself out of the club, but his recent form will have allayed a lot of doubts for some at the club, and that's quite expedient given how much he cost and how difficult it would be to shift him without crystalising a loss. I don't think he's going anywhere.

I think Pickford stays...

Right above Burnleys #1. Really a high bar these days.

Peter Shilton spent a long time at Southampton and Derby .... so I don’t get what your point is sorry
My point is claiming Pickford should somehow be rated more highly because he’s “England’s #1” is wrong. It’s irrelevant to his actual quality. Maybe England just don’t have very good keepers at the moment. Or for the last 10 years.

Pope, Henderson say hi

I find Pope like most Burnley players to be hard to evaluate. The reason being that although he makes a lot of saves Burnley's system encourages lower quality shots. I don't know for sure that he'd be as good when asked to more frequently stop things closer in and not just a bunch of pops from distance over and over.

Pope makes mistakes and has done this season , just doesn’t get the bad press Pickford gets. The VVD incident has made it worse obviously, with certain journalists wearing red hats, are going to jump on his every mistake.

I thought Pope made a mistake last night for the Leicester goal , he basically did a Tim Howard and came flying off his line for no reason amd made it easy for the Leicester player to score.
