Im sure he did, all keepers do , but given his age he seems to display a lot more calmness and maturity than Pickford.
Leeds got him for a song.
I think that was the point the OP was making.

I suppose there will always be people who were bought for less who've done well. I've seen him have poor games as well though and I'm not sure I've seen him make the saves Pickford did against Henderson in the derby. They've conceded a lot of goals as well.

How much would you be happy with for him?
I'd be very happy if we got our money back.
There is no doubt that in the last 2 or 3 games he seems to have improved and if he continues that trajectory fantastic.
But , and I've said it since we signed him , he is just too small for a keeper. As a consequence he cannot command his area.
Last season and earlier in this his decision making has got worse and the became increasingly erratic.
No doubt he is capable of superb saves but I prefer a much more solid , dependable keeper who in turn gives confidence to his defence.

Meslier is rubbish. If Pickford can carry on like the last 2 games, there's a future for him.

That's one of literally maybe 5 saves Pickford has made all season where he dove and kept it out with his hands. His range between the posts isn't good enough. I'd be stunned if anyone has overtaken him on goals conceded from outside the box has he hasn't stopped letting them in, although I've not checked in awhile tbf.

The funny thing is you guys will end up being right with how it'll be handled. Pickford will have 3 non-disastrous months and he will get to start every game next year and throw away enough points to keep us stagnant.
You guys?

The majority of people on here want to upgrade Pickford, I do myself, hes made far too many mistakes for me, yeah, you ain't talking about mistakes.

So I'm all for an upgrade, I just think our biggest issue is moving him on.

I certainly do not buy into your "worst keeper in the world" theory tho.

Most of the keepers who have played as poorly as he did the last 18 months either got relegated like Tim Krul or benched like Kepa and Mat Ryan. I don't know if I've said worst in the world but he was and remains pretty bad.

I don't know why moving him on matters. I know he's supposedly valuable but no one was arsed that Kean got no games because DCL played better and the same should be true with Pickford.

I say you guys as a lot of people are defending him after a day when he made 1 save good as it was.
