Downing Street is linked to the slave trade fgs don't fetch politics into our new ground....or stadia is it not going to be used for pop venues to?
We are turning a historical site into a modern setting if planning is finalised down in London let's move to our new stadia with our history as a club using it for all the correct reasons ....
Keeping the name would be the political statement.

Sorry, that’s off topic.
As for Goodson, I don’t think visitor numbers would justify a permanent visitor centre or similar. When the ground has gone I suspect the memories will survive but the pilgrimages will be short lived.
The plans I have seen look like they mean well, but need to be supported by a much wider development and improvement strategy for the area.

I certainly agree with the first part but feel as far as the wider development goes, the council or the government would need to get involved as we as a club would not be responsible as it is already a deprived area screaming for regeneration out with our remit.

Sorry, I wasn’t more clear.
I actually meant, like you suggest, that the wider development must include local, and probably national, government if Everton’s efforts aren’t going to be wasted.

I mean if you've got a bit of bob behind you, you're looking at viable options near Bramley Moore now, aren't you? Make a bar, and make a killing.

As for Goodison, the plans make it seem a little like what Highbury is like, don't they? That'd be nice. No matter what happens, even leaving L4, we'll be able to visit it once a year when we go the Pit.

It will go, but will never, ever be forgotten. Is it financially viable to keep the Brick open for one day a year?

Was Highbury left in a decent way Barney? The nearest town to me is Falkirk, they shifted their ground about 15 years ago and all that's left is some large photos hanging within the Morrisons that replaced it.:(

They turned it completely into flats, whilst maintaining where the pitch would be as a garden space for residents.

have a quick google of “Highbury Park”, you’ll find a lot better pictures.

I'd love us to do something like this with at least one of the stands at Goodison, keep some of the Archibald Leitch design into the new development.

Utter tosh most of the names of streets in our city would have be changed with your logic ......

Wasn't there a campaign a while back to change Penny Lane's name? How did that un go?

Even if it'd be Adolf Hitler Docks the name should stay. Renaming won't erase history but will make it easier to forget the lessons.

All relevant. But you can't change our past, but learn from history many mistakes.changing names or knocking statues egg is just burying the truth ......
Not an answer imo in fact we are using a site to.renovate it for a different useful purpose is suffice imo......
