To the bit in bold
No width unless you have 2 excellent attacking full backs and 2 good replacements
Because if one gets injured /suspended then it all falls apart
Well you wouid have width down the left with Digne. The right side is obviously an issue.
And it’s not that ridged James can drift, Richarlison will as well.

The only other formation with width is 442. And we’ve seen James playing wide in a 433 and not given much cover to our RB so not sure he could play 442. Maybe unless we go back to 4x CB’s and Digne left midfield. So you can see the problems we have trying to get them 2 upfront. I was little surprised we went for James amd not build a team suited to play 442. Because that was the system ancelotti used after he came in.

3. Elseid Hysaj

Everton are surely targeting a right back in the next transfer window. Max Aarons and Mehmet Zeki Celik have been linked on numerous occasions but the competition for those right backs is fierce. Bayern Munich have already started negotiations with Norwich City for Aarons whereas AS Roma were keen on Celik.

There is another right back who will be available for free in the summer. Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj is likely to leave Naples at the end of this season and will seek newer pastures. The Albanian has worked with Carlo Ancelotti before and in fact was the Italian manager’s first choice at right back. In one and a half season when Ancelotti was Napoli’s manager, Hysaj played 40 games.

The 27 year old doesn’t gain attention by his spectacular tally of assists but simply following the basics of football. Solid, accurate passing and moving the ball around with ease is his greatest strength. Hysaj has an impressive pass completion rate of 85% this season.

The former Empoli man likes to involve himself in the attack and often raids forward but that doesn’t imply that he’s weak defensively. Under Ancelotti’s full season at Napoli, Hysaj averaged 2.05 tackles per 90 minutes and 1.45 blocks. This season, he averages 1.49 tackles and 1.61 blocks, which is pretty much similar to the stats he had in one of the best seasons of his career. (stats vis FBref)

Apparently said negative things about Carlo when he left. It's a shame as I think hes gokd Hysaj.

‘Many players have been annihilated by him’: Elseid Hysaj’s agent hits out at former Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti as he claims he crushed defender’s ‘self-esteem’ during spell at the club

Elseid Hysaj’s agent has hit out at former Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti as he claims he crushed the defender’s ‘self-esteem’.

The three-time Champions League winner was sacked by the Serie A side after a run of poor form in December and replaced by Gennaro Gattuso.

Ancelotti had been under mounting pressure following a civil war between owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and the first-team squad but returned to management quickly at Everton.

Elseid Hysaj’s agent has hit out at Carlo Ancelotti for crushing defender’s ‘self-esteem’

Hysaj’s agent Mario Giuffredi has criticised the 60-year-old boss.

‘Ancelotti had destroyed his self-esteem,’ Giuffredi told Radio Punto Nuovo.

‘He had taken away all his security.

‘He didn’t do well at Napoli, otherwise he wouldn’t have been sacked. I prefer not to talk about the relationship between the coach and the players, but many players have been annihilated by Ancelotti.’

I was just watching the Ajax - Lille match and Ajax has a young striker, who is supposed to be a big talent: Brian Brobbey. He is out of contract at the end of the season and he doesnt want to renew at Ajax (he is with Mino Raiola). At 18 years old he is a very interesting prospect to pick up as a free transfer.

He turned 19 at the start of Feb...seems to be highly rated like you say.

Doubt we'll be in for him as Brands doesnt seem to sign anyone from Holland...

I'd be wary of Ajax given that they sold us that World class player called Davy Klassen.

To be fair, if i could see he wasnt very good then surely our scouts could as well.

It seemed like Koeman doing them a favour at the time.

I hold my hands up I’ve been massively critical of him, but going of the last 7/8 games he’s been very good, but he’s still got a long way to
Go. I wouid have him sitting because I feel Allan is better suited to go box to box

I was ok keeping Davies as a squad player but would have sold for £12mil

If he keeps up this level until the summer he'd have a decent shot at the euros squad.

Madness that Vlasic is our 7th highest fee received. Think of the money the rs receive for their dross then look at ours, hopefully Brands can sort that out.
