New Everton Stadium Discussion

It would be illogical for the sos to call it in. It's perfect timing for Boris and his cronies to jump on the back of a multi billion pound project to help motivate and stimulate growth after a torrid year.

Imagine the backlash if a derelict Dock land remains and unemployment just continues to rise. Not happening.

Great week to be a blue.

No way will they imo, they're invariably on the side of big business, builders and developers so it would almost be directly opposite to everything they stand for.

Can't see them listening to a load of fanatical cultural zealots after the steps the club have already taken to satisfy the main objections and accomodate their remaining sensibilities. UNESCO are just becoming too politicised in their approach and ignore all good well argued commercial considerations, potential area development, potential new jobs and the effect cancellation would have on people's lives.

Only one thing matters to them, their idealistic and unrealistic goals take priority over everything, it's like their religion - they're a bunch of true idealogues and hardcore zealots on a protest march around the world.

Mate there's no place on earth better than an all standing Goodison park in the 80s with the team we had.
Its hard to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced an all standing stadium.
I can remember one of (if not the) first derby games I went to in the mid to late 80s, stood on the Gwladys street that was a packed, bouncing, hostile bear pit of a place, well over an hour before kick off.

They incorporating the clock tower?

Seen this in the Red Echo from Kirkbride about the funding (says not yet agreed a lender).

"And the Blues will now ramp up talks with a clutch of financial institutions before choosing which lender to strike a deal with.

Moshiri is expected to pump in around £100m towards the project while the new stadium project will be part funded by the naming rights deal the club agreed with USM Holdings last year.

Everton have yet to reveal the value of that deal but USM paid £30m for first refusal, at pre-agreed terms, on the rights."

One things for certain they'll be shenanigans aplenty with that USM naming rights deal in regards to FFP.
The guide line is said to be 'market rates'
Its never been done in this manner before.
What ever we get and how ever we get it will be...

Soon we’ll have built all three stadiums in the city. As Jose would say ‘three for me, which is more than anyone else’. The absolute cheek of the kopites mocking us about stadium building when they’ve never built one and we’re on our third.
As someone said on one of the phone ins a couple of years ago “very soon we’ll have built three stadiums in this city, and what have they built! I’ll tell you what they built - a roof, a bloody roof”! lol lol lol

Market rates is very very liberal - from memory when Man city did the etihad deal with themselves, it was almost 10x the size of the Arsenal deal with Emirates
