Everton Summer transfers 2021

This summer, a right back is required, ideally two.

A GK will be needed, be that Olsen or someone else.

If Bernard leaves, then there will be space for a forward.

A decision will have to be taken on King. If he leaves he will also have to be replaced.

i cannot see us doing business beyond that without. I’m sure like everyone else we will be looking at loans and frees. I’m guessing the first choice RB will be a purchase, Olsen will be bought (although I am unsure on him), and King will get a three year contract. We may have Funds to buy a replacement for Bernard, but well have to see wha5 impact COVID ha# had on that.
Yes all that and a defensive midfielder please

Mate we need a keeper .

We appear to need both, but we need a proper right back even more.

If we have enough of a cutting edge on the counter, it keeps opposing teams honest. They won't be able to camp out on the edge of the box and just shell the keeper, because a change of possession will lead to a quick outlet pass and a first-rate opportunity.

The four-CB approach is a pragmatic way of putting a Band-Aid on the problem. Given time and footage, the best managers will figure out how to break that down.

With Digne back in there, we're scoring but we're also conceding. Having a mirror-image player on the right side would keep teams from getting all up in our grill the way they do now, which would help with the concessions.

not that it effects us but Upamecano going to Bayern in the summer, £40m release clause apparently so that's a big fee for Bayern.

I wonder why some of these teams don't have release clauses for every team in world football besides Bayern and have Bayern's release clause like 20m more than the other one. Liverpool has that with Barca for some stupid reason.

It's his release clause. They'd have paid more if it wasn't in his contract.
Would they have though? They are not a club renowned for paying big fees. They often wait until a player is out of contract or running down their contract. Some would say they identify players they want, tap them up so they run down their contracts, then pick them up for buttons.

I assumed your point was "Bayern have spent £40m big bucks so don't expect us to spend a lot this Summer".

Now I'm not sure what your point was.

Sorry mate I'm not sure what you're saying there. It didn't make sense to me. Might be me being thick but could you explain again.

Hypothetically, the release clause for Upamecano would be £40m for every other club in world football, release clause for Bayern would be £60m.

Only way any German teams are really going to have a go at Bayern is to stop selling their players to Bayern. Pretty sure other teams do it as well in other leagues.
