ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Exactly this: I am still convinced that the VAR officiating in 18/19 season came from the PL / SKY. It was just so utterly blatant as you say, in favour of them and against City. I think the previous season spooked them badly when we won 14 games on the bounce to pip them to the title when virtually every match was scheduled in Liverpools favour. It was decided that, that could not and would not happen again. They needed a lead than was insourmountable by Christmas and they got it. The decisions were really just so blatant in their favour week in and week out.
The finger nail hand ball that stopped city from winning a game last season was the ultimate giveaway.

I've seen James Pearce (and others I think) fluffing Pep Ljinders in recent times about what a genius coach he is.

I did find it a bit strange, but if Klopp left, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if he was lined up. It would be hilarious too, if sloppy was overlooked for Pep Ljinders, and Ljinders would be a disaster, with "Stevie" lurking in the background.

Christ I reckon even "Kenny" would be lurking around thinking he can get back on the gravy train again.

After the way has Klopp has behaved though, they will be going for a yes man, who's dependant on them.
The truth is, they've boxed themselves into a corner with Gerrard. He's been lauded so much by the Kopites that he's almost certain to be installed by FSG in the event it all ends acrimoniously with Klopp. Then they have to ignore far better and more experienced managers to pacify the fans.

Hopefully it will end the same way as the great King Kenny return.

The only issue with Gerrard is that I dont get the sense he's either a yes man, nor has he really built that time the FSG way. They have one of the oldest teams in the league and have relied on buying the best experienced players in that league comapred to all the teams barring one. Let's be honest, thats not what FSG want to do, and post Klopp certainly not what they would be looking for.

The other issue is that FSG have been weakened by this situation. Gerrard will know this and will not just toe the company line. If I was FSG, forget the fact he's not qualified for the job, I'd be very worried he would be a loose cannon, and someone who if he went to the press to be critical of lack of money, would get enormous support.

I honestly wouldn't rule out Klopp going before the end of the season, Ljinders being given a chance to stake a claim, and keeping him on. I don't think this whole "Ljinders is a genius" stuff is a coincidence at all.

I suspect the Leipzig game(s) will be important.

Gerrard would be Lampard MK 2.

Oh Gerrard is defo a political animal - no question. He knows power doesn't reside in the boardroom at Liverpool.

FSG would swerve if possible.
