Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

Disgusting performance against Wolves.

Fergie needs to get a grip of this team. Too many wilt at the slightest hint of pressure. Not good enough.

Talent wise we could be in the playoff positions with a view to strengthening in the window to make a push into the top two. And the media making it sound like we're plucky little Fylde who should be happy with mid table obscurity? Rotten!

Any more rumours about the takeover? I just saw Amanda Staveley in the skip behind the club's accountant trying to find out about the financials and how we are planning our fan base expansion into the far east using Blackpool International Airport's new direct link with Pyongyang.

Rest of the local entrepreneurs have had a go at a takeover at one stage or another so was only a matter of time before Wardie had a go. Is he still living with his mam?
It's a very serious bid. Wardie has sold his model railway set up to Rod Stewart to raise funds.

He's also finally got his hands on his big premium bonds win after Mrs Ward let have it.

Also his hairdressers has been voted best in Lancashire in the over 50s male category so he will be coining it in.

I actually saw him an hour ago on my way home from work, he was walking and I was in the tractor so I just rolled down the window and roared Wardie, football clubs now is it? He replied if it's good enough for Abramovich, it's good enough for me, Nero old boy.
I had to go then because the spreader was covering Ferguson avenue in ****

AFC Fylde vs Cardiff City
3rd October 2029

=Cardiff result.webp

The latest rumours were around Andrew Jolley and his plea for first team football but the defender was on the bench for the visit of Cardiff City due to how well Feeney and Alan O'Neill had been playing. Fylde were forced to play long balls forward for Tyrone O'Neill and he got on the end of Mick Wisdom's pass on 11 minutes but his shot was blocked by Clarke-Salter. Wisdom took the corner, it was cleared to Bytheway who teed up McGavin but he blazed it over the bar. Cardiff came forward down the right with Bentley, he found Wall who played it into the box for Roberts but Mark Morton put in a great tackle to put it behind for a corner. Iglesias took the corner but Foster claimed the ball comfortably to the cheers of the home crowd. It was 0-0 at half-time and Fylde were playing well. If they are going to do it they will have to steal it from a solid Cardiff team. Both sides were struggling to create any clear cut chances and the Fylde defence were playing in unison brilliantly. 12 minutes to go, Bentley finds Neco Williams who crosses into the box but Morton head away, the ball is picked up by Davies but he slips on the ball and Bytheway gets in to take it away. Bytheway came forward but hesitated on playing the ball forward for Sargent and was tackled with the ball rolling out for a corner. Wisdom with the cross but itc cleared away at the far post. Fylde were defending well, Alan O'Neill dealt with Kieran Dowell's crosses on two occasions but the danger was not over for Fylde. The ball was hoofed back towards Davies but the flag went up for offside. Fylde were in no rush to take the kick but the whistle was blown and it's a point earned against Cardiff City. It might have lacked attacking football from Fylde but their defensive display was excellent.

Stoke City vs AFC Fylde
10th October 2029

Andrew Jolley was given a start by Ferguson after coming to him this week urging to be picked. He partnered Alan O'Neill. It was a midfield three to try and nullify the attacking threat of Stoke and in particular left winger Ademola Lookman. Lookman went for goal from the free-kick 25 yards out and Foster done well to get a hand to it, the follow up was closed down by the defence and eventually cleared away. A minute later Eisele dallied on the ball and Bytheway got a foot in to take it, he ran forward through the middle towards goal, played it to McGavin who then played it right to Jamieson. Bytheway came to receive it and passed it quickly inside to Wisdom. Wisdom is tackled by Misangu, there was nothing on for him in the final third. Elsnik brought the ball forward but Wisdom done brilliantly to get back and win the ball, he got it out wide right to Bytheway who bombed forward, he played it into the feet of Tyrone O'Neill, O'Neill was tackled by Ben Green and the ball went behind for a corner. Fylde so far giving an excellent account of themselves with five minutes of the half to play. Five minutes into the second half and Okoroji had the ball near the touchline, Steven Finn put in a two footed tackle and took Okoroji to the ground, what a terrible tackle! The referee had no choice but to issue the red card and reduce Stoke down to ten men. Stoke were allowing Fylde not time on the ball and were a lot quicker than The Coasters, Henderson was caught out many times. Ferguson went a bit more attacking in the final 20 minutes with Declan Marshall replacing Bret McGavin. Lookman searches out Dixon who takes it on to his right foot and goes for goal but Foster turns it behind, great save. Five minutes to go and Ferguson wanted his team to get further forward. Euan Henderson was over on the far left and got on to Jolley's forward ball, he brought it down nicely and got the shot away but the keeper saved with his feet. Jolley lauched a long ball forward again, this time Oto'o got it down and took it wide on the left, he done well to win the corner with three minutes of added on time to play. Fylde playing well, Charley Coe got it to Declan Marshall, He played it left to Okoroji who got to the edge of the box, he played it to Henderson who tried the shot on his right but it was easy for the keeper. The game is over and its a point for Fylde away at Stoke City.

DF: To come here and match a team like Stoke really shows the progress we are making as a club. We had our chances to win this and they defended well, even with ten men they still played good football. Lookman was a danger and was putting some quality balls in for the centre forwards but Neil Foster was sublime today. He doesn't get the plaudits he deserves but he has been a rock for us and is a top goalkeeper. Ever since he has been here since our last season in the National League we have won promotion so long may it continue!

FYLDE TAKEOVER

Takeover.webp

Kevin Ward has took full control of AFC Fylde from former owner David Haythornthwaite. Kevin Ward has this to say: "It's a great honour to be able to introduce myself as the owner of the club I have supported since I was a young boy. David is a close personal friend and I wish him well in his retirement. I will not be looking to implement too many changes, we have an expanded stadium to look forward to next season and we are enjoying our football in The Championship. I am a massive fan of Duncan Ferguson and his achievements and this club would not be here today without him. I am in awe of the man and I believe he is the man to take this club to the heights that we all want it to go to. I look forward to being in attendance for our home game against Derby County in two weeks and I cannot wait to get started here at this great football club."

DF: I want to wish Mr. Haythornthwaite all the very best and I hope he has enjoyed seeing his football club make it into the second tier of English football. We had a great working relationship and he gave me complete freedom to bring in the players I wanted and the ones who have helped get us to where we are. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ward yet but I'm sure I'll be in his office in the next few days. I want Mr. Ward to share the same belief in this club as I do and I believe the youth of this club need a helping hand. We are not producing enough local talent and one of the first things I would like to discuss is our youth academy and the facilities. We are a Championship club and we are still working in non-league facilities. I'm looking forward to meeting the new chairman and hope we can form a good relationship.

Non league training facilities???

Bleeding amateur hour under Haythornwaite. He might point out that under his reign we got to the Championship from the Vanderama, but we're stuck in Accrington with the local hairdresser in charge. We're a laughing stock in this league.

We were feared around the land. When Fylde rocked up, you knew you were in for a harpooning on the field. And now we're looking like we don't even carry a toothpick to fight a gold fish. Disgraceful.

We need reinforcements all over the pitch.
