Sheffield United vs AFC Fylde
24th November 2029

It's been 14 days since these teams last played football with the international break last weekend. Fylde were hoping to continue on the back of their 1-0 win over Hull a fortnight ago. Henderson almost put Fylde up after four minutes when Mick Wisdom won the header in midfield and Henderson used his pace to get into the bxox with the ball at his feet but the keeper saved his shot. 16 minutes into the match, Foster played it short to Alan O'Neill who was put under pressure from Andersson, he played it back to Foster who took a touch but Andersson came forward and stole the ball from his feet and made it 1-0. What a terrible mistake at the back for Fylde. Foster played the ball forward and Bytheway took it down perfectly, he approached the edge of the box and crossed in towards Henderson but his header was saved well by the keeper. Fylde were working hard for the equaliser but Sheffield United were keeping them to long range efforts. Minutes left to play and Coe played it out wide to Henderson but it was given away, Henderson put a great tackle in and won it back, he ran towards the United box, and lined the shot up for Josh Ferguson but the keeper saved at the post. Oduro came on for Sheffield United and had fresh legs to run at the Fylde defence, he played it to Andersson on the edge of the box and he knocked the ball past Okoroji but he stuck his foot out late and brought him down, penalty! Andersson took the spot kick and put it down the middle to make it 2-0. It was a defeat for Fylde at Bramall Lane but it could have been different if it wasn't for defensive errors.

Middlesbrough vs AFC Fylde

=Middlesbrough result.webp

A tough away trip to the Riverside stadium for Fylde and a win needed as they were only three points clear of the relegation zone. Ferguson made changes with Okoroji injured for up to a month, Garrett came in as a replacement. Andrew Jolley partnered Alan O'Neill and Declan Marshall played behind Tyrone O'Neill. Middlesbrough took the lead after 15 minutes when Jay Chapman crossed for Roger Mawson who climbed above Jolley to score into the bottom corner. Morton won the ball back for Fylde and played it to Foster who pumped it long for Henderson, he played it to O'Neill who turned ans ran towards goal taking a shot that the keeper could only push away, Henderson got onto the follow up and tapped it home to equalise! Aiden O'Neill took control of the ball in the centre and played it wide to Woods who got in a low cross for David Brown who tapped home at the near post to make it 2-1 with 33 minutes to go. Coe played it Ferguson who played it back to Coe and he sent the ball into the left channel for Henderson to chase, he crossed into the box and O'Neill got up for the header but put it over the bar. Bytheway wins the ball from the goal kick, he puts into the path of O'Neill but he shoots over the bar. The victory went to the home team winning 2-1 and O'Neill will rue the chances he put over the bar.

DF: We are finding it tough at this level but we have to keep working hard. Eventually we will turn these defeats to draws and then to wins and that's how we get better. We will hopefully be backed in the transfer window in January which will benefit us in the second half of the season.

AFC Fylde vs Brentford
1st December 2029

Fylde were beginning to look like a side in trouble in The Championship with only one win in their last seven games. They had been unfortunate to lose against Middlesbrough and Aston Villa recently but they need to start taking their chances to have any chance of survival in this league. They went into this match a point above Millwall in the relegation zone. The first half came to an end with either side really making an impact. Tyler Garrett was struggling with a groin injury and with Okoroji sidelined the only replacement was right back Mark Morton. It got worse for Fylde when Vince Bytheway indicated he couldn't carry on and was replaced on 55 minutes by Victor Oto'o. Thee match displayed little action and as the match entered the last twenty minutes, Sargent came on for Tyrone O'Neill. Morton took the throw inside the Brentford half and Marshall received the ball, played it to Coe and then it was into the feet of Oto'o. Oto'o lost the ball to Parsons and fed it forward to Clark but Foster saved the shot and Jamieson cleared the danger. Marshall brought the ball forward and played it out wide right to Oto'o, Oto'o went for the cross but it was blocked and behind for a corner. Joe Jamieson filled in brilliantly at left back and his excellent tacking helped Fylde to a point.

DF: Chima Okoroji is going to be a big absence for us throughout December and Vinnie Bytheway is definitely going to miss next weeks trip to Swansea. We've drifted towards the bottom of the table and we need to wake up before things get worse for us. I'm demanding certain players to step up and put in performances that I have seen from them in the past. We need to show that same fighting spirit that has won us league titles.

Harpoons r us on the high street have a whole new range of poons in, think I might buy 15 or so
I'm off to Coaster Coaches to bung Des the bus driver a fiver so he'll stop off at the petrol station on the main road. The one with a big bush so we can all hide behind it and then jump them.

To be honest though, I think we all went downhill after Ashley Williams joined as fitness coach.

Will Des recognise a big bush?

With a lack of first team football at Fylde, 21 year old striker Lee Lofthouse has joined Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
Not Lofty!

He'll be lost to us now. Our first team is limper than a Forest Green salad sandwich, and he'd be better off in that than going down there and losing his way. Shocking decision.

Ward out!

Swansea City vs AFC Fylde
8th December 2029

=swansea result.webp

Duncan Ferguson set his team up defensively at the Liberty Stadium with a three man central midfield and Joe Jamieson filling in at left back. Swansea City struck the bar after only 25 seconds putting Fylde on the backfoot from the whistle. Barry Coffey played the ball to striker Bradley Spencer and he turned and made it 1-0 after 1 minute. Swansea were getting numbers forward but Fylde were doing well in keeping the scoreline at 1-0. Fylde cleared the danger on 54 minutes and Henderson picked it up on the left, he cut inside and broke into the area but is shot was saved by the keeper. Mick Wisdom took the free-kick 5 minutes later and Alan O'Neill won the header and struck the bottom of the post. Euan Henderson played a nice one-two with Wisdom and then struck a beautiful shot from outside the box but it was inches wide. Sam Allaway was brought on for the last 15 minutes to try to make a difference. Declan Marshall came on as a second half substitute but was limping with five minutes to go and was replaced by Josh Ferguson. Josh Ferguson hit a hopeful ball down the right flank for Victor Oto'o to chase with two minutes left, he crossed into the box and Henderson had some work to do to get it under control but he still took a shot and the keeper parried it. Swansea recorded a win at the Liberty Stadium but Fylde performed well in the second half and were unlucky not to get something.

AFC Fylde vs Coventry City

Fylde were despearate for points and needed all three to get out of the relegation zone. Vince Bytheway made the bench but had no trained this week with the first team. Fylde looked to take the game to Coventry but after 17 minutes McKenna beat Mark Morton and crossed low for Adam May to beat Foster. 25 minutes gone and Wisdom crossed for Oto'o who put the ball over the keeper to make it 1-1! The lead was short-lived, Obi played the long ball and McKenna beat the offside trap and made it 2-1 beating Foster at his near post. Fylde were done again just before half-time and McKenna got his second of the match. Fylde had it all to do in the second half and can an inspiring half time team talk get them firing? Fylde were playing football in he final third but were not doing enough to trouble the goalkeeper. Bytheway came on for Oto'o to the delight of the fans with 30 minutes to go. Garrett played the ball forward but it was headed away only as far as O'Neill, he played it to Josh Ferguson who gave it back to O'Neill in space and he curled one into the net with his left foot! Game on! Fylde have a chance of getting something with 20 minutes to go. The two goal cushion was restored minutes later when White got onto the long ball from Warren in midfield and slotted past Foster. Fans started to leave the stadium on 80 minutes when Frank Obi scored a sensational free-kick and made it 5-2. The fans that stayed in the stadium made their feelings known at the full-time whistle and told the team that it was not good enough.

DF: I'm sorry the supporters had to endure that. We were terrible today and showed nothing. We were outplayed and we should be embarrassed by that humiliating defeat.

Are doubts being raised over the future of Duncan Ferguson managing Fylde? Has the manager who was brought them massive success with three promotions ran his course and are Fylde ready to be handed over to someone who can take them further or is the new chairman going to have to back his manager in the transfer window so they can compete in this league? Fylde come up against Ferguson's former club Bolton Wanderers managed by Aiden McGeady.

AFC Fylde vs Bolton Wanderers
22nd December 2029

=bolton result.webp

Can Ferguson give his supporters three points three days before christmas against bottom of the table Bolton? He vowed to turn this bad run of form around and questioned the passion of his players. The only player in the starting line-up for Bolton who played under Ferguson was Dwight McNeil, could he pose a threat to Joe Jamieson? McNeil almost scored on 26 minutes when Short crossed to the far post but his header glanced across the goal mouth. Foster made some good saves and Fylde were coming into the game during the second half, Bytheway found Henderson in the box but he blazed over from close range, the linesman's flag went up on the far side. Ferguson made changes with Sargent coming on to support Tyrone O'Neill and Chima Okoroji got the last 15 minutes returning from injury. Bolton took the corner with 5 minuted to go and Henderson cleared the danger, Bircham picked it up and found Short on the edge of the box who hit it first time to make it 1-0. A blow to Fylde with minutes to go. Another defeat for Fylde coming at the hands of Bolton Wanderers and it looks like they are dead and buried already.
