ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Mane and Salah apart from the theatrics are brilliant players no doubt, but what helps them enormously is the fact, defenders know they can not get too close to them, as they know the result, a penalty. They know the slightest touch will mean they scream, throw their arms up in the air and collapse in so called agony, which in 9 times out of 10 results in a pen. They can say everyone does it, but nobody does it better and referees seem to want to fall for it. Sickening thing is the media commentators seem to accept it with glee, until they start questioning it like they do with other teams players, they'll continue to do it.
it is this that gives them that half a yard of space in the box that allows them to be effective. It used to be a contact sport, not anymore, there are still some good fruity tackles in lower leagues, why the premier have it so wrong I don't know.

It’s absolutely mad, nobody likes to see it, I don’t get why it’s not been outlawed!

They made a big thing about retrospective bans for diving and then (a bit harshly) banned Niasse for the pen against Palace so what happened to this rule? Has there been anything since? There’s no way the contact Sunday was enough to make Salah go down like that, no way at all.

Well they have all turned on Carragher because he won't follow the narrative and basically dared to suggest that their issues stretch further beyond the injuries to St Virgil of Van Dijk and Gomes, go have a look in the Klopp thread on there it's hilarious honestly.

I always used to say that Trotskyists and right wing conservatives shared a similar, that nothing or nobody could ever be quite pure enough ideologicaly for them. You can add Kopites to that list too. Even a Liverpool legend is never quite extreme enough for them. How odd. I'd imagine Carragher won't lose much sleep over them thinking hes a tit.

On their Alt. PL table, as far as I can fathom it, they're resigned to being in a race for 4th at best
1 form graph (there's many) show the trending down rs going the opposite way toTuchels up trending Chelsea.

Yes I mean all the indicators are they are in big trouble. I mean it's not often I do this, but lurkers it won't actually be as bad as your d-rate, flawed mathematical models suggest. There's this little thing called context, that you seem to struggle with. It will not be quite as disastrous as those models predict.

There needs to be a standard measure of force in the contact along the lines of “would it knock a garden gnome off his plinth?”

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one there to see it, did it really happen?

If they ever struggle to remember the 19-20 season they can always just go back and look at the police and media reports of all the violent disorder and distuction they inflicted on the city (all while spreading a deadly disease in the middle of a global pandemic no less). Or maybe they could look up pictures of the Royal Liver building in flams and the city looking like the aftermath of a battle if they want an imagine or two that truly captured the moment............

Spot on.
On a highly compliant media are very much a part of the cause of this.
They could stop it in no time at all by illuminating it when it happens week after week.
However, as we all know, there is absolutely zero chance of that happening any time soon.
They dare not attack Liverpool in any way regardless of it being 100% valid.
It's a bizarre situation but if any of them breaks rank they will lose their jobs.
