ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Wow, what petulance. No need for it, just answer the fella’s questions as you’re obligated to. The mask has well and truly slipped.
What a thoroughly unpleasant man. If a manager ever fitted a fanbase. All smiles and self-licking lollipops when it goes well... then the snarling and lashing out when it isn't.

Still not getting this Thiago fella.

Everyone else says he is sex, so its probably just me being thick.

They went massively overboard with him, and there is a concerted effort in the media to make him world class.

He's a good passer of the ball. Another in a long list of Spanish players, predominately out of Barcelona who are good at that. Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Silva etc. Unlike most of the above, there is rarely much end product from him.

I said in the summer, to miuch chagrin from lurkers, that he would have to play as a number 10 in this league, at age 29. Off the ball, not playing for either peak Barcelona or Bayern (elite teams, which Liverpool simply aren't) he cannot get away with playing deeper. They've moved him from a defensive midfield role, to a more box to box role, and I think his performances have got worse, as he is not big enough to get around the pitch. I'd also say, in his defence it was always a stylistic mis match. He's a touch and technical midfield player and would probably do ok at City- albeit as a bench option, but Klopp likes his midfield to hound and pressure opponents, which he can't do. I'm not sure what the plan was with him.

So no, you're not being thick. You've just watched impartially and after many years of watching football can see the reality for what it is. If you have played and watched football and have any kind of understanding, it's quite clear he's not the 2nd coming his made out to be. He's a good passer. Thats about it really.

If I was picking Liverpools best 11, he wouldn't get in over Henderson, Wijnaldum or Fabinho either.

They must have an office somewhere in Oslo who’s job it is to think of crap like this. The mental gymnastics they are willing to perform just to comfort themselves and deny reality is absolutely staggering............View attachment 117189

By that same logic, they are now waiting 31 years to win a PL trophy with fans, arent they?

Repeatedly this summer there were scores of Liverpool and others saying how James isn't anywhere near the level that Thiago is. "You just don't understand what his role is and how important he is compared to what James is. James has never been world class like Thiago".

James is thrice the player that Thiago supposedly is meant to be imo.

Hahaha, it's kin brilliant watching them implode.

It's even better watching them have some bad luck for a change. Because they have been unlucky, but they're not the first team -nor will they be the last- to be dealt a bad hand by lady luck.

We've had some terrible luck over the years. Big Nev in 86, the European ban, Four broken legs in the last ten years, Bracewell. I could go on and on and on. And let's not forget the little matter of two world wars.

And that's just us. I'm sure there's tales of woe up and down the country in that regard.

So next time you're weasely little kopite mate whinges about bad luck, just remind them how long overdue they are in that regard, and to suck it up and stop whining.

Friend of mine reckoned yesterday showed just how good he is, they were in the game until he went off at which point their mf fell apart, therefore showing his importance to them and backing up the he is the best mf in Europe argument.
