Of course you should look beyond the stats, but I'm willing to bet most who say his name hasn't watched him much, nobody can tell me what hes even good at for a start.

I agree lots of people latch onto a name of someone they haven’t seen and then get really annoyed when we don’t sign a player we were never in for in the first place.
In terms of Aarons, don’t think he’s great defensively but he is a strong and quick runner who can deliver a decent ball. He isn’t the tallest but is pretty competitive. Even with the assist stats I’d be happy with Aarons or Lamptey but think we probably have a decent relationship with Norwich having paid up for Godfrey and giving them Dowell for relative buttons.

Lukaku is a good striker. But he could be a world class right winger. Rom cutting in to shoot off his left. Or making runs giving Hamez a choice of Richy Dom or Rom to feed. League winning attack.

Martinez had Lukaku playing from the right and cutting inside a few times, notably in a game against Arsenal, and it was very successful. Whether it would be consistently successful enough to be more valuable than playing him in the centre is something else.
