ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm sure it's just a blip.

I'm reacting as if they're in some disaster season, but that was absolutely atrocious from them last night. I watched after our game, and they looked devoid of any attacking prowess. Brighton in the time i watched had 4-5 good efforts, and should have won by more. That Dan Burn must have got forward unmarked 6-7 times in 30 minutes.

You can blame the lack of defenders all you want, but even if Van Dijk plays, they're still not scoring in a million years there. Klopp cracking up.

If they play like that at weekend, CIty will take them to school.

I’m of the opinion - contrary to most - that VVD should be thanking his lucky stars that he was injured in that fateful Derby.

If he hadn’t, he’d have been shown up for what he really is in current climes: a bang average centre half who having resorted to wrestling players to the ground when they (frequently) rounded him, would have accumulated a pack of yellow cards that would have inevitably seen him suspended.

Their defence isn't even the problem. They haven't conceded more than 1 for 17 games, but only won 8/17 in that time..

The problem is when Mane doesn't play because the rest of team don't get the space they need to be effective. They haven't missed Van Dijk bar his threat from set plays.

Like they were blaming last night on Allison being out. I don't know, but I'm not sure he'd help Arnold cross the ball better or Firmino not fall over his own feet every time he gets into a dangerous area.

City have the chance to finish them off on Sunday. The only thing that will stop them is their own nerves or lack of belief.

I don’t agree with that opinion. I do think the chances of him returning at the age of 29 from an injury like that the same player are slim though. They will invest big money on a CB this summer. Their squad is starting to creak now though. Will be a big test of Klopp to see if he can rebuild like Fergie did all those times. Players as skilful and dynamic as Salah and Mane don’t grow on trees and they will be in decline next season. To add to that there is no longer a market to sell star players of that age profile to fund a rebuild.

I have so much respect for Irish blues surrounded by whoppers like that and UTD glory boys and you support Everton.
Yep we must be outnumbered 500-1000 to 1 not even trying to over exadurate. You wouldn't belive how many tattooed sporting kopites i had to educated that Everton owned Anfield. You laugh sometimes but other times its very embarrassing. They are giving you loads about how great Liverpool are and you tell them something basic about the beginning of thoer history. Most deny and it and then it has to go to Google. YNWA tattooed all over them.

Be interesting to see if Mane is fit for City or if he has been rushed back by Klopp. He must be thinking of trying to secure top 4 rather than going for the league now and therefore resting Mane if he’s not 100% is probably a better idea.
