Before the game Newcastle saw this as their best chance to stop the rot. The first half confirmed it. They are quicker and better passing and are playing high to catch out our terrible passing out from the back. Everton are no threat at all.

You'd think they wouldn't allow a commentator who had his career effectively ended by an Everton player to do our games, but of course they do.

It was exactly three minutes on the clock when Beglin “mentioned” the Pickford/VVD incident, as he called it! Then nearly twenty minutes before he managed to bring up the Richarlison red card for the tackle on Thiago!

Far too slow we are sitting off Newcastle at home allowing them to attack. Still could have scored a couple but have to be much better press them, push up get the forwards on the ball. We are making it too easy.Sig too slow to play in CM get Davies on NOW.James is being kicked everywhere. Wake up Everton and get a grip they will win if this carries on.

Trouble is, if you look to the officials for protection nine times out of ten you're going to be disappointed. Newcastle set up to give us the wings but block everything in the middle, it's basically inviting Digne to pick DCL or Richy out, which I can see happening. If Allan was anchoring this, setting Doucouré further up the pitch we would look much better. All of that said, still back us to win this.
