Doucoure is back for Newcastle, Iwobi back for Leicester so can drop James into the 10 role in the midfield 3 for both games so only one of Iceland, Skater Boi and Gomes will play

Leicester is the big worry as a midfield 3 of any 2 of Gomes/Gylfi/Davies and James has no physicality or defensive solidity about it whatsoever.

We should beat Newcastle but Leeds will be tough we couldn't get near them at Goodison its going to be watching Davies and Gomes chasing shadows as they pass it around us.

We knew this weeks ago though and nothing has been done to bring someone in to provide cover.

Nothing frustrates me more than a Manager misleading the fans. 10 days ago he said he’d be back in 10 to 15 days. Now it’s another 14 days. I know Gbamin is a different type of case , but the talk was expect him back Christmas/January time. Now it looks like we will be lucky to see him till March. He will be lucky to see 5 prem games

Add in Allan will need to stay fit for the rest of the season when back, only to miss 1/3 of the season. So disappointing when we’re so weak in that area.

He could be pulling one of his tricks blagging the opposition into preparing for us without our better players. Match day arrives and he starts the game. He’s done it before.

Or he could genuinely be out lol

I don’t even know anymore Ancelotti has me confused lol

He's not deliberately misleading the fans. They probably did hope/expect to have Allan back in roughly two weeks but his recovery obviously has been slower than that.

Leicester missing Vardy is a big plus for us. Hopefully it's Davies and Allan in midfield. I get the sense Davies will relish being up against Madisson

Allan is out mate - Maddison will show Davies up completely.

The problem is you can cope with one of Allan/Doucoure out but for me you cant deal with both - we saw how shocking our midfield was last season.

No pace
No grit
No solidity
No creativity

Get a loan in until the end of the season to cover Allan/Doucs - doesn't have to be a top player just someone who can get stuck in / put in a tackle.

It's pretty disappointing but I prefer to look one game at a time. Making predictions with Everton is pretty silly. I keep saying it, but we will lose when we expect to win and win when we expect to lose, so best to just roll with it this year.

Hopefully our luck with injuries can turn in the second half of the year

I think Davies for the most part has done very well this season but as you say, he and Gomes have really relied upon one of the other guys to be in the team.

I don't see them causing much problems up top for us. Our defence should keep them out minus Vardy. It's a big test for Tom though, he needs to go and get under Madisson like he did at Wolves.

We need Gomes to have one of his good games as opposed to one where he goes missing.

Tough game. I'd rather be in our shoes though.

....those hamstring injuries are difficult to call, you might start light training with a scheduled return & feel a little strain that sets you back.
