ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I had assumed this was parody content, not real???

but on the Man City point, they didnt have to play Garcia and Fernandino, Pep had Stones and Otemendi, another 100m worth of CB's he chose to ignore.

That may be fruitful in the long term, but not a valid comparision

I think Otamendi was injured but fair point on Stones. They have Fabinho fit though, who is apparently a world class centre back.

He was horrendous last night. They kept getting themselves in decent positions and he just kept lashing aimless balls in, or passing it straight to a Burnley player.

There was 1 where they had good possession, and he just passed it into the Kop. It was nowhere near any player. I don't know if he saw someone who wasn't there. He was on te end of the box on the right side, in a good position. Genuinely baffled.

I don't think it will be helping the lad much that Klopp singled him out for criticism at the end of the game either.

To be fair mate the reason he gives the ball away the most is because the crosses and passes he attempts to make are the hardest passes and crosses to make in the whole world. :hayee:

Fair - he is a good CB for sure, but I would argue, like city last year, the hole in MF is more significant

Yes true. I just think more broadly, City had a lot of injuries last season and nobody made allowances. Yes in terms of fees they have spent more, but in terms of wage spend they were below Liverpool last season.

When you're spending over 300m p/a on wages, you really have no right to be complaining about injuries.

Whilst elated I am still miffed that Pope didn't jump up and welly the ball for a glorious rub your rs nose in it goal after Alice had run up and down the pitch 4 times.

Also did I hear the commentar refer to winaldum as wynal ?

And finally. 0-1 or not that ref was terrible.he tried his hardest to give them a break. And 4 minutes at the end but play 5?

I've seen sky advertising and to be shown on the 30th Jan 'How Liverpool won the league' it's getting ridiculous now, we're half way through this new season and they are still peddling this crap.
They have to keep their armchair subscribers happy to keep the money rolling in - so they do.
The bias & favouritism isn't even subtle. It's completely blatant. It has no real credibility but
the business model is a success, so more of the same is the game. They really don't care.
I'm just so glad I don't pay for SKY and stream every game on IPTV.

Agree with this, hugely overrated by the media. Here's an amusing example from Micah Richards, which also features a couple of other side-splitters:

"Trent Alexander-Arnold has the potential to become England’s greatest right back. Joe Gomez is the best young English central defender to emerge in the last 10 years. Virgil van Dijk could play in any era."
You are right abour Micah Richards. As a City fan I was hoping he would bring some balance and objectivity.
However, he just spouts the scripts he is given by the BBC & SKY to keep his highly paid job. The fact is,
if you don't, you just don't get invited back. I remember a few years ago SKY had Mike Summerbee on as a pundit
for a United v City game. United won it, but Summerbee wrote his own script and went on to say that in the not
to distant future City were going to give United an absolute pasting. They shut him down in rapid time and
he's never been seen since. Summerbee was proven right shortly afterwards.

one of dese is not like de udder

In fairness the second article does hold some weight, if you ignore the fact that Alexander-Arnold has got just 3 assists in his last 28 PL games
