ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

He’s looking for his short term legacy, his recent actions aren’t the ones of a manager there for the long term.

Buying Thiago for 25 mill was purely about just winning this season. He had loads of midfielders and didn’t need him particularly (unlike us with Allan and James when we were desperate for quality at the very start of Ancelotti’s term). He’s injury prone and on a massive wage. Good luck to whoever picks him up in a few seasons when Klopp is gone.

The front three haven’t been refreshed, and don’t even get a game off. He is just running them into the ground, and apart from Jota, he’s leaving his successor with nothing Origi, Minamino, Shaqiri, Oxlade Chamberlain. Very poor backup. I don’t even know if Jota is that good to be honest or just a scored a few winners and then got injured. He didn’t look head and shoulders above the rest at Wolves.

He’s sold their young defenders (metaphorically and physically). Hoever gone, Van der Berg on loan during a defensive crisis, and clearly zero confidence in Williams, Philips or Koumetio. Yet is rushing VVD back along with Matip time after time. Apart from Gomez what is any new manager going to be left with?
Agree with all that.

Thaigo: I notice some criticism of him from Didi Hamann for being too slow (and slowing the game down with short passing) and not offering enough of a boost to the attack.

Jota: I was astounded to see how well he'd done. Playing out of his skin in terms of poaching before injury but I dont see him keeping that form up.

The players under the first team are clearly below top quality...and, by the way, so are all of the much vaunted youngsters regardless of throwing them in the first team a lot - they look bang average to me.

As you say, he'll hand over a squad that's top 5/6 to his successor.

The media are going to be vicious in the build-up to the next Derby match and they'll have the ref so on edge as a result that he's going to send our players off just for looking at the Liverpool players

We "ruined" the season and our penance will be an all-time shellacking at Anfield. It's going to be like one of those old wrestling shows where Stone Cold Steve Austin had to fight like 9 men because Vince McMahon had stacked the deck

I'm just hoping Mr. Ancelotti has us mentally set up right for that game, as they are going to try and destroy us, whilst the indulgent media and football authorities will enable them to do so

Imagine how bad it’ll be going forward if we dare get a result in that game.

I can genuinely see us going there and being the team to beat them.

That aura of invincibility they had for a large spell last season has well and truly gone. Even Dyche will be licking his ginger chops tonight and he'll be demanding his team keep it tight and try and get something from a set piece.

sadly this is bang on

And there's not a word on Gomez injury either, which sounds rather alarming. I haven't heard anything about recovery or whatever else.

Gomez is actually a poor defender who has pace. Take his pace out of it and he will make Bolasie look decent.

The music on this FFS lol

When all is normal again I am sure that fans inside grounds up and down the country will be remembering those that passed away during these horrific times, well all grounds except one because they will be having a minute silence to remember all the VAR injustices (and of course the passing of the greatest defender ever to play the game)

Kopp on Van Dijk:

“I don’t know what is possible and I don’t think I am the right person to judge it,” he said. “He looks really good and I spoke to him this morning and he is in a good mood but I don’t know when he will be back."

That's a desperate manager placing pressure on his own club's medical team, and the player himself, to get back into the team regardless of probable setbacks over cutting corners on recovery time.

The stink of desperation is oozing out of this feller.
Remember how acrimonious it got with Sturridge over his injuries. I suspect that St Lazarus di Gambacaduta being Dutch will be confident in himself to put his other leg down when it comes to his health. Trouble is a brewing...

He comes across as being very instrumental.

He'll have suffered that injury against us (the one where he went in studs up in an attempt to injure Pickford) and he'll be thinking: "No way I'm staying in this league any longer than I have to before the crowning glory on my career with a move to Madrid / Barcelona."

He will break down in training before even getting on a football pitch again. Remember ‘this means more’
It means more than van Dijk career

It all has rather a Manchester United post Alex Ferguson feel to it. Without any prolonged success before it though.
