Disappointing to lose to a team we should routinely beat at home at least. People show their frustration in many ways. It's part of modern football. Some of the players should just be glad there aren't cushions in the stands anymore.

You're saying you are down about Everton when we are sat on 29 points from 16 matches and you are complaining that we aren't on 35 points, 2 points clear at the Top of the Table.

There is no row to be had here. You need to get a grip.

Nobody is moaning about the points total though.

The issue (for me anyway) is that games like last night happen far too often and have done for decades now.

Just when we look like we are making progress we always turn up with an absolutely inept display. Most people can handle a loss here and there, what people can not accept is players just not turning up and looking completely disinterested. West Ham did absolutely nothing last night and came away with three points, all it required was a bit of effort. hey had their back up goalie playing on an hours notice and we did not even test him. That's pathetic quite frankly.

Yeah we have loads of our best players missing, and yes it's a long term process but that doesn't mean people can't be upset for not trying to jump up a few levels in that process earlier than expected by turning up and beating teams who have to do very little to escape our games with points.

The point is we have a team that we all know is mis-jointed and void of quality in depth, so when injury’s hit it hits us hard. But having a top class manager helps navigate this, has proven by taking 12 points from 15.

with regards to West Ham; I think you’ve massively underestimated their organisation last night. They cut every avenue off and it was a typical Moyes setup, it’s not there job to go win the game it’s our job to break them down and we couldn’t.

There’s no expected wins in football, and unfortunately last night was accumulation of poor performances by the entire team. It happens. Carlo Ancelotti, his back room staff and the squad will know it wasn’t acceptable.

Going off on one, stamping your feet and having a fit changes nothing. The club is in the best hands now.

The problem is the fans get to hyped up, first seven games we were fantastic then a slump hits and then we have calls for Ancelottis head. Now people are calling for Richarlison to be sold because he’s in a slump, it’s utter beggars belief.

Being calm and reasonable as a fan doesn't alter anything either to be fair. They are just words on a screen right now (would be different if fans were in the ground etc).

We didn't even attempt to break them down, that's the issue for me last night. We did absolutely nothing to change it. I don't blame the manager as such for that I blame the players for trying the same stuff and expecting different results from it. I thought West Ham were pretty average at best last night, one player who did stand out for me was Coufal at right back, he dealt with absolutely everything thrown at him yet we still kept trying to catch him out with balls over the top of him. We never seem to learn or adapt in games like this.

You would like to think the management team see it as unacceptable (though the rumours of Sigurdsson getting an extension says maybe not...).

Of course the people you mention in the last paragraph are idiots, that's taking things to extremes. I don't think there is anything wrong with being angry about last nights display though either.

I didnt take west ham as a given last night. Not even close.
Their fixture list at the start of the season i would have put them in the bottom 3. They're not and it says a lot that they're decent.
That we have battered them in years gone by at Goodison counts for nothing.
In fact i dont see many if any easy games these days.

The problem is that just like Everton generally doesn't do consistency - other than to stay in the top division, many Evertonians don't do balance. If we win three or four games, people get carried away and silly talk of Champions League qualification rears its head. Positivity and optimism is fine, but what we see here isn't that: it's a needy demand to be "taken seriously" by the media and by more circumspect, dare I say it, realistic people. Some of the hubris on here before the West Ham game was instructive. A sense of entitlement. By the same token, if we lose a few we are immediately plunged into relegation despair where a world-class manager - the best we could ever hope to get - is pilloried and dismissed as an imposter. The truth, of course, is in between, if people want to see it. We don't have the depth to seriously contend for Champions League. A good run or two could get us close, especially as many leading clubs are in transition, but much depends on whether the club backs the manager in the window. Without those reinforcements, we could make a push for the Europa League or fall away into mid-table.

I agree with the opinion that many people get too negative. There's been some crazy talk about Carlo not being up to it, for example. But the optimists also need to get a grip after a few wins. We're not world-beaters and pretending we are wilfully ignores the paucity of genuine quality and staying power in the mediocre squad we have. Shouting down the doubters simply turns an optimist into a fantasist. We have an inconsistent group of players, some of whom are very good, some of whom are not up to it, and many of whom are simply nondescript. We're upper mid-table by definition. Anything else is down to the brilliance of the manager and the backing of the club.
