blah, blah, blah, someone tells you how it is and they are a kopite, the fact is no other manager would get away with the rancid, turgid football Ancelotti has served up, anyone who says they have enjoyed watching it is a liar, now he's talking about signing Khedira, giving Siguurdson a new contract and persists with the has been that is Seamus Coleman, but hey we are fourth, lets see how opinions change as the inevitable slide down the table snowballs.

2nd in the league up until yesterday with the same awful squad from last year.

But don’t let facts get in the way you tedious little kopite rat

1. I don’t care what style we play if we finish the season in the top 4
2. We were scoring goals for fun when we had our full first team fit, we’ve been missing Allan, Digne, Richarlison, and Coleman on and off for a month or so.

Kopites are FUMING today. Chill out hun, Carlo has got this.

It’s quite mad how a large portion of the real disappointing matches come at Goodison, the place you’d expect us to turn up at.

West Ham stopping us going second yesterday.

An awful Crystal Palace side ending our run late in the season when fourth was looking pretty much ours in Martinez’s first season.

Numerous cup exits: Fiorentina, Man Utd, Leicester, Wigan, Reading and Chelsea stick out.

The mentality of this club is just awful. On the flip side to us, Liverpool use Anfield to their advantage.

Think the lack of fans was a real issue for the team yesterday.

The last three home games fans have been there. While we were poor/knackered v United, you could tell that they were missing today - players had probably got used to having that bit of support.

They were all poor though.

As I say, it’s not just the result yesterday, the big disappointments when a bit of pressure and/or expectation is applied come at Goodison.

Yesterday’s result was very predictable. We’re one of the most boring and predictable clubs in the league to follow.

Anytime there is an opportunity to grasp, nine times out of ten we all know what happens, hence the phrase has been coined ‘Everton, that’.

You’d think bringing in a manager who has done it all, like Ancelotti, would’ve changed it but it hasn’t. Maybe once he gets more of his players through the door it will.

Handling expectation is what top clubs do.

The first ridiculous post of the year

When the season started with a fully lift squad we were playing great football and scoring goals everywhere.

injuries and squad depth have hit us badly and we still managed to compete apart from yesterday we’ve been going ok considering.

we knew the squad was bad before Carlo arrived so blaming him for a bad result is just clownish and pathetic.

We were top four last time I checked when was the last time any manager got us anywhere near that, fact is your a bed wetting clown who loses his head at every bad result...next your telling me we’re getting relegated.

Poor players have a poor mentality because more often than not they lose. Football fans seem to have an odd view that if their players just ‘have a go’ even if they’re massively inferior to the opposition they’ll win, every time as well. So a poor group of Everton players can beat Chelsea, Leicester, and Arsenal but then when they lose in the 87th minute to United, suddenly it’s because the players didn’t have a go.

It’s all down to quality. These ‘disappointments’ will continue to occur until we go out and get a squad of players where every player is at the level of the premier league top 6. We can’t do this currently because Koeman hamstrung the club with FFP problems. We have to walk a tightrope window by window of moving high earning under performers off the book, getting in better players for cheaper, meanwhile staying competitive. At the same time our challengers like United can drop 60 mill on a January signing without issue to partner their 90 million pound midfielder.

That’s the challenge. The days of Everton fans just extorting the likes of Davies Coleman and Sigurdsson to ‘have a go’ needs to be over. They never have done it, they never will do it, they’re not good enough, how many years do we need to see this before we accept it? This is now a waiting game unfortunately, and Ancelotti Brands and Moshiri have to somehow pull off one of the hardest jobs in football, competing against 6 of the richest clubs in Europe who are already ahead of us whilst we have our hands tied by FFP.

It’s like Luke taking that shot against the Death Star. We’re holding out for that one in a million miracle shot given the conditions. That said, we might just have the man in charge who has even a slim chance of doing it. Yet some people want this bloke out. I despair .

Do you remember Silva was our manager?

P36 W17 D8 L11 at this moment. Carlo is proven world class manager he has our support.

This isn’t just an issue now, this has been an issue for numerous squads over the years. Even when we have more quality than the opposition, we crumble under the weight of expectation. It’s one of the reasons we’ve not been able to end our 26 year trophy drought whilst the likes of Portsmouth, Wigan, Swansea and Birmingham City have all won trophies during that time.

Brands takes the flack for me - lets be honest Godfrey aside (who even then cost us £25 million) his signings have been lazy and largely just sign whatever cast off the big clubs deem not good enough.

You have players like Eze going for £18 million, Soucek for £15 million - why isn't our supposed world class DOF (renowned for unearthing talent im told) nowhere to be seen bringing in these players?

These days every PL side has money it all comes down to quality of manager and recruitment - we have the former in Carlo but we are severely lacking in the latter.

Even this window we'll bring in someone like Khedira or Isco (not that I wouldn't be happy enough with those deals) but its just lazy and not addressing the fundamental issue that we are desperately for ambitious players with fight and importantly Pace Pace Pace!

christ, imagine that shower in the champions league? don't worry about it this lot aren't getting anywhere near top 6 never mind CL, the next hurdle I suppose is getting past Rotherham, then a couple of decent teams go out and everyone talks themselves into believing its our year, until of course we get drawn against any semblance of a decent outfit and yes you know it, bye bye blues, meanwhile Gylfi and Seamus have just signed long term contracts and Khedira might be fit by April.................

There’s this thing DoFs/Sporting Directors/Scouts do and that’s look at all areas of a player, such as would they fit into the manager’s system, do they have the right attitude, is a deal financially viable for the club. If any of that criteria doesn’t fit then they don’t proceed, it isn’t like on simulation games where you can just pick a player and sign them, it’s a lot more complexed
