Disagree, early on we had a back four of Coleman, Keane, Mina and Digne and we were going places now we have a settled back four of Holgate, Keane, Mina and Godfrey and we are gong places. So no, no to a back 3.

Thats cool mate, i can see were your coming from. For me, i like a bit vairence, i wouldn't be one stuck to a rigid system, game after game, i like adaptability for games and even during, i think a 3-4-3 has its uses, depending and i think with Holgate and Godfrey i think we have two good options of flanking centre half of a 3 given their performances at full back. Always nice to have options.

Think back did Howie change a winning system?

I honestly think Godfrey could do a good job at right back. He had a blinder against Mane. He was poor at Southampton but the team set up was different and he was still settling in. If he was asked to play there now you would see a different player. This stint at left back has give him confidence. He could fit a variety of roles in the team because of his aggression, speed fitness and strength. It’s still early days but I think he could do dirty work in the middle of the park too. I do think he’s footballing skills are limited but his ability to nullify the opposition could prove vital as well as his versatility.

No but im not sure we have title winning quality either just now. I think you have to accept that systems are moving targets, like when Carlo initially came in did well and we got thumped against Chelsea, that was the end of that system.

We've done well with recent results, but my concern if im speaking openly, is that our recent results were gained on the basis of holding firm, protecting ourselves against the quality of CL teams and hitting on the counter. An observation i would have, is we do less well against teams who do the same to us and we need to break down, like our labor Vs Sheff Utd. As our fixtures ease, i think that is a job of work and a challenge for us, having to break down teams who will sit back against us and let us have the ball. In that scenario, you could see a system like 3-4-3 or different ones potentially having its uses, certainly as an option, to commit more bodies forward.

I can see where you are coming from but when we tried 3 CBs it was not good. Also I would not mind winning every game 1-0.

There are a couple of players we would change our system again for, and Digne is one of them.

If this back 4 keeps going though, I honestly wouldn't discount Digne going to left hand side midfield and maybe moving to a 4-4-2 with Richarlinson central.

Yep mate, that certainly is an interesting shout. Would you have Jamo on the right. Godfrey certainly has the recovery pace to anchor him and also engage the opposite full back and make space for Jamo.

Yes probably James on the right. Iwobi as a squad option to give him a break is fine too. You could also rest DCL by playing James in behind Richarlinson sometimes too.

He could be a holding midfielder as well.

Does anyone else remember when Sheffield utd had two top youth prospects in kyle walker and Kyle naughton and at that time everyone felt naughton was the better prospect.

We were heavily linked with both before Spurs who at the time had more money swooped in and got both.

I feel its a bit like that with Norwich with Aaron's and Godfrey. Everyone speaks about Aaron's as the better prospect but I wonder if we have actually got the gem here in Godfrey. Still quite raw technically like Walker was, but lightning pace and strong.

I see your point, and agree, but can we not mention Ben Godfrey and Kyle Walker in the same post ever again please.
