Kevin Keegan April 1996.........
Mad ain’t it

It’s probably the most asked question after a game and every time they get the same rehearsed answer “we are taking it one game at a time” “it’s too early to say that, there’s still many games left to play”

You would almost think football managers working in a multi billion pound industry don’t get media training

Shame about the blip we had, Leeds,Southampton, newcastle etc, but credit to the manager and the players they have recovered very very well.
The Newcastle one still stings the most, they are a terrible team and at least the others had to play well to beat us. Having said that I think those defeats helped the Don learn a lot more about our strengths and weaknesses, and decide to go with the shape we have now.

100%. Southampton were excellent against us and fully deserved the win but Newcastle were pants and won because of a soft pen as the only reason they got a second is we threw everyone forward desperately. If we’d have won that we’d be a point behind the RS with a game in hand! Liverpool, Burnley, Man U and Leeds could’ve gone either way too. It’s only really the Southampton game where we were comprehensively beaten.

Got a orrible feeling without James this could be a 1-1 type affair with Moyes keeping it tight.

Hope them playing 6 games in 3 days has taken its toll and they tire in the 2nd half and we can break them down.

They'll come and try and keep it tight and hope to nick one on the break, we'll try and keep it tight and hope to nick one on the break...

They were ok. We were really bad, James was injured and it was like playing with 10 men and no creative player on the pitch. But that was a really bad run, and we look a lot better since.

I think we have stumbled onto the winning formula, Holgate to play full back and Seamus to come on when opposition defences get tired. Last thing teams want to see is a demonic Irishman flying down the wing with no regard for his or anybody's welfare.Sheff Utd dropped 5 yards deeper when he came on boxing day.
Carlo..... "Release the Demonic Irishman"
lollol
Brilliant.

Equally that applies to the Man U game, IMO we could have perhaps won that is started better.

imo Richarlison is the key, it’s been said he hasn’t been that good, but in the games I’ve seen he’s looked dangerous when running with the ball from the left. His decisions setting up chances have been poor he gets that right more and lots more goals will come. Imo he’s our most important player.

What an opportunity. I think if we won this, we'd be fairly well rooted in the top 6 for the short term at least.

The negative part of me thinks we're due to catch someone on the wrong day and drop points because the opposition just really fancy it on the day or their system just happens to work perfectly against us. With the injuries as well, it's a tough one.

The positive side says we have a decent record against Moyes and that they're going to put out a changed side that'll have Mark Noble in it. We know when Moyes feels his back's against the wall, he goes very negative, so we might not be on the end of the sternest examination, defensively.

He's struggled without Digne going forward imo - funnily enough him and Nkounkou played very well against WHU in the Cup Game I wonder if Carlo would consider giving that another go?

Highly unlikely with Godfrey doing well at present but feel like atleast one of our fullbacks needs to be bombing forward so I imagine Coleman will get the nod over Holgate at RB.

For me I would go:

Pickford
Coleman Keane Mina Godfrey
Holgate Doucoure
Siggurdsson
Iwobi DCL Richarlison

Wont happen but Holgate in the middle would allow Doucoure to play a bit more offensive and push forward more with the ball.

Davies doesn’t deserve to be dropped imo

Davies doesn’t deserve to be dropped imo

Think he'll be found wanting tbh West Hams biggest area of strength is probably their central midfield two of Soucek & Rice who are both physical & scrappy players - think we could do with a bit more physicality in there with Allan out.
